Photo Challenge - Day 3 - B&W (Jaaaaaaag)
-
I bought a new camera and decided to do a 30 day photo challenge. Day 3 was "black and white" and I ended up taking a picture of the Jaaaaag for this. This is such a complicated car for me. I just assumed it was going to be an easy project and I think I did it a disservice with that assumption. The problems that have come up are minor, really, and the car is just fun to own. We will part ways, likely sooner rather than later, but in the interim I'm going to enjoy it as much as possible.
Day 3/30 - Black and White - Everything looks better in black and white, but strangely I was struggling with what to shoot for this one. Ultimately I decided to merge a Costco run with a shoot, and take pictures of my project S-Type R. Ordinarily British Racing Green, converting to B&W has the interesting effect of highlighting some lines while hiding others. I left the car dirty for this shoot, but I don't feel like that added much. Might try something else later if I have time.
D750 - Sigma 17-35mm f2.8-4 DG - Shot at: ISO 100, 27mm, f/3.5, 1/2000, MF - Natural Light - EditedSidenote: I uploaded this to DT yesterday and got a whopping 37 views
Makes me think...

@akioohtori I do love your car, and an s type is on my list but I'd probably avoid the r and get either a stick v6 or the na v8.

I've pretty much stopped clicking on DT.

We really need to figure out a good way to cross-post from here to there...
Seems like it could be a good symbiotic relationship, and draw more like-minded folks to the OPPO community.
-
@davesaddiction I agree, but their post formatting is so featureless that I don't bother putting my long form stuff there. The layout itself does not lend itself to the sort of posting we do on the Hyphen.
-
@davesaddiction Agree.
@ttyymmnn Ehh I think that is a little harsh. There were decisions made about the editor and I can see why they were made, even if I don't like it. Taking away a lot of the tools we're used to (text formatting, headers) makes posts feel much more limited but from their perspective makes consistency trivial. Any post by any author is going to be broadly formatted like any other and for a community generated pseudo-professional platform that makes a lot of sense. Do I like it? Not really, no, but I do understand it and, much like all our "favorite" Kinja "quirks," I've learned to work around it.

How many total views do you have so far? How many DT bucks have you earned?

Not even views. Those are impressions which is a number that's convenient if not particularly useful.

I've earned around $11 but I'm really trailed off going there.
-
@davesaddiction I think like $4. 12 posts, 71.5k Impressions, 320 bumps, 63 comments. Haven't joined the creators program yet but plan to soon.

I haven't forgotten about this! Going to work on it tonight!
