Most all the old gang seems to be here and I can edit comments to infinity and beyond.
Old Studebaker truck driving in the snow at Christmas for reading my sappy post, and a story to go with it. An old lady in a big Lincoln backed into to me (flesh and blood me, not in the car me) while I took this picture. Luckily she was backing up slowly like a little old lady and I just heard someone say stop (passerby) and felt a firm steady push on my leg. I tapped her trunk to let her know I was there, she drove off without saying anything.

I'm happy you weren't hurt. That situation actually could use reporting to the police. Not for punishment reasons but to add to her (possibly long) list of incidents that may tip them off that perhaps her license should be revoked before someone does get seriously injured.
-
@glemon It does kinda get to feeling like home quickly doesn’t it? Glad you weren’t hurt. Getting good pics of that old Studebaker was good though. Way to hang in the pocket.

Didn't see you; didn't hear the passerby; didn't hear / feel the tap. Three strikes, folks!
Great Studi' though!

Old lady syndrome is ignoring every noise and sound because you know you're doing it right.
Or she might have had an ex husband who drove an old Studebaker and was taking out her revenge on the wrong target.

@glemon
Ye', it's nice here, a home from home, no pop ups, no adverts that look like posts, etc...
They really have done a truly awesome job for this site. -
@glemon That is an awesome old truck!
Glad you weren't hurt, because that could've been a lot worse, say, if she'd hit the wrong pedal in a panic if she HAD heard somebody say stop....
Glad you're enjoying The Hyphen....it's been going pretty well so far!
-
@flatisflat I think she heard the tap, it was more of a slam my palm on the trunk, I wasn't enraged, but I wanted to get her attention before I ended up under the car, might have scared her.

@chariotoflove "way to hang in the pocket" har!

Good on you for not getting enraged. I am usually very even tempered and calm but for some reason people being stupid while driving is the only thing that can piss me off. I'd absolutely at least berate the lady for paying no attention. Same as no damage bumps while driving, it's just fucking stupid to be that oblivious to hit something unless you lose control of the car. Sure that's still stupid too but honestly I wouldn't be mad in the same way.

Welcome!

@glemon Welcome!
Just a guess, was that picture taken in Lincoln NE? (Nebraska sticker, multi-lane stop lights, and packed snow- Omaha is far too liberal with the salt.)
-
@cobrajoe Yep, you are correct!
-
@glemon It's great to see another Oppo in the area!
-
@cobrajoe where are you at, and do you have a Cobra, Joe?
-
@glemon In Omaha, and I wish I had a Cobra (It was the car that got me into cars.)
-
@cobrajoe I think there is another guy who posts here pretty frequently who lives in Omaha or maybe Lincoln (actually on the old Oppositelock I guess) can't remember his name, we both posted about an inch ld Alfa GTV sitting in an apartment complex lot for many years and figured out we were from the same area.
I generally assume everybody is from the coasts...but it f course not everybody is.
