Well as bad as MINIs reputation is, this 2013 MCS has been among the more reliable cars I’ve had. 2013 was one of the last years of the dreaded n18 engine (actually not as dreaded as the n14 before it), and I think they finally got most of the bugs out of it. I’m hoping if I keep it happy with MINI brand oil, MINI brand coolant and mostly top tier premium gas it’ll keep on!And yes was driving on a straight country road with no traffic and not looking at the camera

@britsnswedes-was-minigti Nice!
Mine rolled over 223,000 the other day -
@britsnswedes-was-minigti glad its been okay to you.
-
@britsnswedes-was-minigti My 2012 MCS Clubman has been very reliable and is just about to roll over 105,000 miles.
Coil failure? Yup.
HPFP failure? Yup.Other than that (and neither of those two things stranding me somewhere), the car's needed very little. We got good ones.

Ooooooooh how I hope to reach that marker.
-
@flatisflat Turbo wastegate is probably getting sloppy around that mileage but maybe that was fixed too
-
@flatisflat Good to hear. I did have a coil go out about a year ago (should I replace the rest?) and had to drove about 20 miles on 3 cyl
. And I just did the thermostat. Love that engine though, pulls so strong.
It’s done lots of brutal city driving in Chicago too but factory clutch is still fine too.
-
@britsnswedes-was-minigti Shoot, maybe just buy a set of 3 and keep them in the trunk so they're available when the next coil goes.
Yeah, my stock clutch likely would've lived this long too, but I replaced it early to switch to a single mass flywheel.
-
@flatisflat I’ve been thinking of getting a spare to keep in it just in case.
-
@britsnswedes-was-minigti let's get an update 2 miles later and see how it's coping with 6 digits.
