Daily Camero Bullshittery - The Bullshit is Back!

It's broke again. Fuck.
I'm in the dealership lobby waiting for Mrs. Snuze to pick me up. I talked with my service advisor and he brought the shop foreman up and we discussed. Its throwing a CEL, which it actually didn't do last time, and it smells (rich? burning?).
They of course need to troubleshoot but he's fairly confident that it's something simple like a loose plug wire.
I hope that's the case and they can fix it tomorrow, because I am leaving for a month in Japan on Wednesday. Which means I won't be around to initiate the lemon law proceedings...
-
@snuze Ugh. Sorry man, that sounds like a real giant pain in the ass. Hope they make it right.
-
At least you won't have bad surprises for one month
-
@snuze Fuck sorry to hear.
-
@snuze how are you getting into Japan? I thought they locked down pretty hard.

Pretty sure you can lob pits at them from overseas. That would give you something to do in quarantine.
-
@snuze OMG you should be able to do the lemon law stuff online fortunately/unfortunately. What a bummer man, really hope this turns around and quickly for you.
-
@snuze Hmmmmm.... chicken
-
@snuze This is awful. Sorry to see itβs having issues, again. Is this on a new engine too?
-
@highlander I'd rather have a chicken advisor than a service advisor
-
@snuze GM knows how to alienate their customer really well...
-
Sonova... I'm so disappointed for you.
I'm sure Mrs. Snuze is super-stoked about all this, too (sarcasm, if not obvious). Ugh.
This isn't the way affordable dream car ownership is suppose to go, dammit!!
-
@highlander Peruvian chicken, the official chicken of the DMV (District, Maryland & Virginia).
-
Have you tried telling them to just keep it and give you your money back at this point?
-
@highlander Thatβs SUPER chicken to you!!
-
@texturedsoyprotein Having moved to CO from NoVA, I would cut a bitch to get some El Pollo Rico right now. Or some Pho 75. Shit, now I'm hungry.
-
@snuze Gadamn it.
-
Interesting. I assume they test drove it after they replaced the engine, so no faults would have come up in a test drive.
I'm betting it's not a plug wire. What more than likely happened is there is either a loose sensor or something else is loose. The tech probably did a full test drive (city, highway, idle) and said it was good. It spent some time relearning and now you start it and it finds a fault due to something being loose.
The good news is that they are working on it for you. Not a great position to be in Imagine, but at least they haven't told you to pound sand.
-
@snuze So.....lemon law?
I think I would be if you bought a BRAND NEW car and were having this much trouble with it...

I'm a bit curious as well, I thought only residents, and a select few countries (not in North America) were opened up for getting in (with testing both before leaving, and upon arrival) along with a 14 day public transportation quarantine.
I'm mostly stuck here so I'm not paying super close attention to who is being let in. -
@italia @AdverseMartyr My employer has connections...
I'm actually going there on official US government business, which is one of the exemptions for US citizens to travel there right now. I work for the Navy and will be going to the base in Sasebo.
I do have to comply to all those conditions - got my pre-travel COVID test this evening, which I almost missed due to the Camaro having to go to the shop. It was running awful, and the shop was more or less on the way, so I took it there and had Mrs. Snuze come pick me up and take me to get my COVID test.
And I will be getting a COVID test when I arrive. And yes, there is a 14 day quarantine from public transport, so I will be taking a charter bus to Sasebo, an 18+ hour ride after a 12 hour flight. In fact the Navy is making us quarantine completely for 14 days upon arrival in Sasebo, and I won't be released until the time is up AND I have a negative COVID test. And then I get to get to quarantine and get COVID tested upon my return to the US.
-
@Highlander @TexturedSoyProtein @MattHurting My favorite peruvian chicken joint is Sardis, but Super Pollo is pretty good, too.
@ForSweden You know, you just gave me an idea. The dealership should team up with Super Pollo and have complimentary peruvian chicken in their waiting area to placate customers.
-
@snuze Ahh, I thought you were a commoner, now I see you are one of those military/government connected people. You all have your own rules that have only a passing resemblance to the rules the rest of us have. Makes sense then. Sucks that you have to spend so long sitting around doing nothing.
-
@adversemartyr We have quite a few ships deployed there, we need to be able to go over and support them. Trust me, I'd prefer not to be traveling during the COVID, but it comes with the job. And I think we are doing a reasonably good job of complying with all the rules and then some (since the full quarantine isn't really required).
-
@rctothefuture It's possible. They did test drive it when I first brought it in, and then again after they replaced the clutch, and finally after the engine replacement. It had 437 miles when I dropped it off, and I picked it up with 509 on the clock. So between the 3 drives they put 72 miles on it, and I imagine most of those were after the new motor since the initial problem was fairly apparent, and would have been evident even after the clutch replacement.
Also, if they told me to pound sand after all that, I'd probably be in jail right now because I think I'd just snap at that point. But they have been really good to me so far.
