Well well well, what do we have here? The consequences to my actions.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ParlerWatch/comments/kuqvs3/all_parler_user_data_is_being_downloaded_as_we/
Looks like due to some piss poor programing/security practices on Parlers part, Hacktivists were able to download a shit tonne of user posts (even deleted) along with their metadata (geo location, phone info, OS info ect). Seeing as to be verified on Parler you needed to upload your drivers license, a lot of people are gonna have a bad time in the upcoming months...
Like for instance, this dude...

@bloody-the-resident-shitposting-saffer As disgusting as the whole Q-related world is, I can’t say I’m thrilled to see Parler being hacked like that.
-
Twitter, Facebook, Google, Amazon, etc. all acting against Trump, Parler, and others just feeds into the conspiracy theorists' hands...
They were all between a rock and a hard place, and their decisions have huge future implications (they are now content managers, not just platforms), but I think they had to do what they did in order to attempt to prevent future violence.
I worry about what we might see on the 17th-20th.
Biden being sworn in under martial law is a terrible visual - I hope we don't get there.

@just-jeepin From what I've been reading all morning, it was less a hack and more of the fact that Parler just didn't bother to secure their users data, like at all. They basically just left the doors and windows open for anyone to walk through if they knew were to look for those doors and windows.
This really just shows that Parler was a grift setup to take advantage of people so they couldn't be bothered to do things the right way and cut corners where ever they could.

@davesaddiction I think that was part of the reason for taking Parler offline, any way to try disrupt what the seditionists were planning as an encore. I guess we're going to see how this impacts the future of the internet, we'll see if this gets used as precedent in the future or is understood as an extreme off type example.
I think the real problem though was Parler couldn't moderate their platform because they just didn't set themselves up to be able to do that and given the dire nature of the current situation, the luxury of giving them time to set that up wasn't an option. The whole thing is terrifying from a privacy perspective, because these idiots have provoked a response from the government that is going to make the patriot act look like a cake walk.

So who will host these shitbag platforms next? Yandex? Alibaba?

@bloody-the-resident-shitposting-saffer
I read this morning that archivers/hackers had managed to back up all of Parler before it was taken down (with meta data that include location information on video, etc.).
Good resource for law enforcement for future convictions, but scary to think about the implications if there are those on the extreme left looking for vigilante justice...

@davesaddiction @fintail No way any Chinese based companies host these guys due to all the anti-Chinese posts that crop up. Chinese government wouldn't tolerate that for long, my guess is Yandex or some other Russian based company.

@bloody-the-resident-shitposting-saffer
VK is Russian.

@davesaddiction Heh, well there you go lol. I guess we'll see if they can successfully sue Amazon (I doubt it).
