I guess I'm back

There are just too many interesting things to share these days.
Arnold being the bad-ass he is.
Trump's hypocrisy just keeps on giving.
Another Capitol Police officer died, apparently at his own hands.
What black Capitol Police officers went through during the insurrection.

How lawmakers called for help when the White House wouldn't.

@just-jeepin I don’t think we need to be lowering flags every time a cop gets killed doing their job. Also, I think it’s best the White House stood aside during this. The last thing we needed was Trump declaring a national emergency because Congress was “under siege” by a bunch of internet conspiracy theorists.

@just-jeepin I am going to be very interested in seeing how many LEOs were among the insurrectionists:
And how their hypocritical unions of cowardice will get them out of any accountability.
Oh yeah, and then there's this piece of shit:

Interesting things indeed.

@dipodomysdeserti Guess we'll have to disagree on that. I think lowering the flag in honor of someone who died defending our VP and Congress from a mob, some of whom clearly were intending to cause them harm, is quite appropriate.
-
@dipodomysdeserti Nationally, maybe not (though this was an important event, so maybe). But in DC certainly (Pelosi did order flags lowered at the Capitol).
Clinton did order flags lowered in 1998 when two Capitol Police officers were fatally shot.

@just-jeepin I felt bad for that officer being stuck so outnumbered (and by people who have a good chance of being white supremacists). If he was actively leading them away, instead of just trying to not get mobbed, then that's very heroic on his part.
-
@just-jeepin said in I guess I'm back:
There's a fair bit of discussion on Twitter overnight about how close the mob got to the Senate. It looks like one officer deliberately pissed off the person leading the charge and took them down the wrong way.
That officer did a very smart and brave thing. Beanie guy is from Iowa and has been arrested.
-
@just-jeepin Arnie’s making Demolition Man’s 61st Amendment look pretty attractive right now.
-
@just-jeepin I think that group of millionaires should set up a fund to take care of the officers’ families for life. Sentiment without action and all that...
-
@just-jeepin I watched the statement from Arnold this morning and he really hits it home and made it personal. He has been criticized in the past for not condemning his family’s role in the Second World War.
