thicc boi 225s

225's on OEM R53 wheels? Nice. Are they 7.5" wide? 8"?
-
@flatisflat 7" wide
-
@aperson Oh wow, I'm running 225/60's on an 8" and I've got quite a bit of bulk; I'm surprised a 225 with a lower profile ratio on a 7" isn't positively pouring over the lip.
-
@aperson when I bought the wheels for my Camry, the ones I liked (the ones I bought) were a whole inch wider than the stock wheels. I accidentally made a great handling Camry.
-
@aperson MEAT
The key is to go at least 20mm wider then recommended
-
@sony1492 I have 205s on 6.5in on the Mini and 295 on 10.5" on the Vette
recommended sizes dont matter! -
I'm getting all the meat for the track/auto-x tires next year. Going to 255/40r18 on all 4 corners. It will be thick.
-
-
@the-crazy-kanuck My track tires are only 235/40, 255's should be an absolute riot.
-
@aperson The rules of STH state tires can be no more then 255 wide. So 255 it is.
-
@sony1492 the bruhs also put 315 yokohamas on the stock 10.5"....so i can still be considered sane?
-
@italianjobr53 dosent sound that crazy after looking at a calculator. 265 on an 8.5" appears to be a similar amount of excess, and in person it just looked square
-
@sony1492 315 look a bit too pinched IRL on a 10.5, could also be due to the weird side wall on then A052s
295 looks like it was meant to be -
Looks nice.
225 is at the limit of what you should put on a 7" wide rim but it's still acceptable, it's for example what was used from factory on the A3 8L S-Line while the S3 wheels (what i have) are of 7.5" width (both in 225/45/17).
It also depends on the height of the tire.
