Mad Max Inspired Hot Wheels Customs
-
These two are ones that I've shown before. A Lifted Plymouth Roadrunner and an extended Plymouth Superbird with a Mustang front end.
This one is new. A 1972 Ford Ranchero. It started life as the HW Hot Trucks release from 2019. I found it in a bin at a thrift store in California a few months ago. I started by partially removing its paint. No Mad Max build is complete without at least one crazy modification so I gave it some huge fender flares made from an aluminum can and lots of super glue. I also built a minigun that sits in place of the passenger seat but it doesnt really look all that good. The bare metal areas were weathered with some homemade rust washes as well as other washes by Citadel and Testors. A heavy dose of Vallejo rust powders were used in the bed. All of this was locked in with Rustoleum matte clear.
Here's the whole Mad Max gang so far. Ready to tackle the wasteland!

@HotWheelsAndFriedChicken I'm not a fan of the look of Mad Max cars, but those are some seriously high-quality builds

@HotWheelsAndFriedChicken Well, these are amazing.

@HotWheelsAndFriedChicken The minigun looks more like a recoil-less rifle.
