Why do they not let UPS/Fed Ex tracking number progress show up on their own site?
-
For example, if you buy something on eBay and they ship it Fedex, you can see the tracking progress on ebay's site in your account, but when you put that same tracking number on fedex's own site, it only shows when the label was created
Example:
Tracking number 1234 5678on ebay, you'll see
6/22 1:23 am -- Arrived at Fedex Location -- Hell, MI
6/21 12:34 pm -- Picked up by Fedex -- Big Ugly, WV
6/20 3:33 pm -- Shipment information sent to Fedex -- Ding Dong, TXBut if you were to enter that tracking number on fedex.com, all you'd see is
6/20 3:33 pm -- Shipment information sent to Fedex -- Ding Dong, TXWhy do they do that?
UPS has been doing that shit for awhile, but it seems to be more recent for Fedex.

@dogisbadob Oh like this?
Label was created on Friday. I guess we will see if it shows up tomorrow -
@dogisbadob The "more information" thing can give you this information. I've seen the detailed stuff on their native sites and prefer them.

@dogisbadob It's there, just not expanded by default. I assume the rationale is that the user only really needs to see when it will be delivered, so why waste resources and possibly freak out the user by showing details? I suspect their UX people would like to get rid of the details altogether, but customers are used to having that info available so they can't get rid of it entirely.
In any event:
