Looking at a certain online game today it struck me just how difficult it would be to traverse Indonesia. Massive, sprawling, and of course that pesky ocean. I think we should buy @annoying_salman an Amphicar and make a travelogue.

Certain boundary lines are fascinating to me.
Here's the boundary between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
Dead straight, except for this section that follows the river.
How The States Got Their Shapes was great television.

@davesaddiction Wyoming must have been a boring AF episode of that.
Only state the same shape as it's flag.

Missouri gets even more complicated. When it was admitted to the union in 1821, the western border was a straight line. Then there was the Platte Purchase in 1836. Six counties were added north of Kansas City between the original border and the Missouri River.
Many Americans think of the world based on the Mercator projection. It makes countries closer to the poles look larger and equatorial countries look smaller. Most Americans vastly underestimate the size of Africa. The DRC alone is a good fraction of the size of the continental U.S.

@Just-Jeepin I'd quit my job and write travel diaries instead if it comes true. Sounds more relaxing and enjoyable anyway. I'm so down on exploring eastern Indonesia – many hidden gems are located there.
