The X6 and 5/6GT. One of them is selling well into it's third generation, and the other one got booted out of the US after just one generation. Yes, the taller one won.
The 6GT continued to be sold in Europe, but reviews and sales remained mediocre, and I can understand why. Europeans get the 5 series wagon, which also offers ample boot space while also being a car, with lighter weight and sharper handling. Supposedly China is a good market for the 6GT, perhaps due to its 7-series-sized rear seat.
I still maintain that the GT's are very underrated. At the time these came out BMW/MINI's model proliferation was going wild, and the GT was one of many sub-variants that got greenlit. However, I choose to interpret the GT is a valiant attempt by BMW to ween people off of SUV's.The inbetweener's got more than a whiff of Mach-E to it, no?
Happy Juneteenth, I hope y'all got the day off!

The X6 is terribly ugly, and the GTs were abominations. I dislike all of this.

@WBizarre Neither are particularly well proportioned. The GTs were kind of a 318ti moment but the X6 was just plain offensive.
-
@WBizarre Never liked the 5GT, but weirdly, I always thought the 3GT wasn't bad. I mean, it had a longer wheelbase than the wagon, and big hatch. Certainly better-looking than the X4.
-
@phenotyp The 3GT was definitely an improvement. By the time the 5GT became the 6GT, they did a lot of good things to improve it. The 1st gen 5GT was....
ugh -
@WBizarre how about a 3 way x6/honda crosstour/Parsh Panamera?
-
@WBizarre The 1st gen 5GT was....
... a dump truck. -
@phenotyp The SSangyong Rodius coupe

I completely agree, they're are hot garbage.
