While not a beetle, there are some panels you'd be forgiven for thinking were straight lifted from the beetle..

True, but the same could be said of a few prewar and postwar cars, particularly in Europe. The swoopy front and rear wings would stay for quite a while (until the arrival of the "ponton" body style).
