There are people in this world I do not care for.
Thank you.
-
@dr-zoidberg I'm sorry. I'll try harder to be less terrible.
Unless you didn't mean me. In that case, screw those jerks.
-
Best I could find.
-
Well stated. The word "hate" has been used so often that it is watered down. There are people I don't like, folks I dislike but no one I hate. There are also folks I don't care about, that I do care about and a few I love and cherish. But all of them I will be courteous to.
-
I like to call people i feel negative towards a "turn 11"
-
@dr-zoidberg Same, I call them "people".
-
@barnie My feeling is that generally anyone I'd hate isn't worth my time, and the best approach is to just ignore them. Unfortunately there are always few people who you just can't ignore.
-
@barnie Different levels of hate. Love is just less extreme hate.
-
People exist outside my home I've locked myself in for 10 months now? I'm not talking to bots? Well I never!
-
@vincentmalamute I'm half Italian/half German, but have somehow always felt a strange kinship with the Finnish, and this confirms it.
-
It's ok, you can tell me to my face. Well, to my screen.

That meme is a joke of course but it seems exactly like something Kimi Raikonen would say.
0.5 Italian + 0.5 German = 1.0 Finn?!
-
The world would be better off without them anyway...

Was the choice of this advertisement: 1) totally random, 2) related directly to the words used in the post, or 3) specifically aimed at this old fart that just turned 54 today?
A few years ago, after I had been diagnosed with colon cancer, I was doing plenty of research on my illness. I was less annoyed by a potentially fatal disease I had than I was by the targeted ads, a vast majority of them being for ColoGuard, an early-detection test for colon cancer. I just wanted to contact Google's ad department and scream at them "I already have the disease - just fuck off with these ads already!!!"
And this is why I turn off targeted advertising whenever possible.
-
"I don't know you, and I don't care to know you."
-
@6MT_FTW yah, I know. That's why I came clean that it was a joke two posts above yours.
But I really like the funny definition!
Google apparently has a sense of humor!
-
@vincentmalamute I was aware of that, and thus my post was more about the targeted advertising than it was about the humorous translation since that part had already been covered. I would have chopped it down a bit more but I wanted to make sure that 'dick' and 'prostate' were both in the post.
Yes, I'm 54 going on 10...

ah! I didn't think hard enough on the dick and prostate connection, sorry I missed the humor! I was too concerned that you were correcting me but I hope I'm getting better, not as prickly, in responding to corrections, intentional or otherwise.
Anyway. Yike!! You were two grades behind me back in 1979! I hope the colon ca was early and easily taken care of. I had my first colonoscopy at 45 years. Was clean as was the next one.
-
@vincentmalamute No worries, mate - it's all good.
My cancer was caught very early and was treated with a hemicolectomy and chemo, and, to the best of my knowledge I'm still in remission. 2019 was a hellish year, going through all of that with numerous side effects that nearly killed me, but I guess it was a precursor to the joy that was 2020.
On the last Friday in 2019, two days after Christmas, I was terminated for exceeding my PTO balance and have been out of work ever since. Of course, in modern day America no job means no insurance, thus the reason why I don't know if I'm still in remission. When on unemployment I tried to get a basic medical plan through my city but I was making $80/mo. too much to qualify, but now that unemployment insurance is history I'm trying to see if I can finally qualify. Everything is basically so fuct right now that all I can do is to sit back and laugh at the absurdity of it all...
-
@vincentmalamute I hope and think you're tongue-in-cheek. That is an abysmal attitude. Grateful that I live in none of those countries. Love is "unconditional concern for someone else's genuine wellbeing". Hate is the abhorrence of anything beneficial to another. I don't have to like you to love you but I have to hate you to hate you.

Sorry. That was a joke. No, I don't believe that. The meme's Finnish definition is also fabricated for comedy exaggerating the stereotypes of Finns.
-
@vincentmalamute hehe 10-4
-
@barnie I've always viewed indifference as the opposite of love since love and hate are both strong emotions.
I think back to several relationships that have failed and chalked them up to 'mutual indifference' rather than anything stronger - we just didn't care enough about each other to expend the effort necessary to keep the relationship alive.
-
@6mt_ftw oh man, I'm in the medical field and I truly do believe our health system is completely screwed up. Not being able to do followups for the first year out from treatment is not likely to be a big deal. So there's that at least.
I hope you continue to do well and wish you the best in 2021.
