I did a thing so now I can shut up about it

Oh hai
I called the local dealer yesterday and miracle of miracles they took a used Vstrom 650 on trade this week. It was still going through PDI and getting new rubber so they haven’t even advertised it yet. I jumped on it like a fat me on a salty snack!
Here’s what it looked like when I arrived…
It’s a lightly moded 2016 Vstrom 650 with ~22k kms. It has OEM panniers and top case, lowering pegs and crash bars. It also has a Givi adjustable windscreen.
These bikes aren’t known to be lookers, especially the pre’17 models, but I think it looks fine. (I actually wish it had the single headlight because I would have changed to Vstrom badge to read “Vortigaunt” as they kinda look like them).
I put ~10 kms on, on the ride home, and it feels so comfortable and confident. The seat height is not an issue at all, so thanks to all the Oppos who said it wouldn’t be an issue…you were right. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.
I’m not big into naming vehicles, but a nickname might come about in the future,,,who knows.
I’ll have to pick up some Oppo and UppU stickers for the bags

@ClassicDatsunDebate ehhhh welcome little wee-strom!
this is hands down one of the single most replaibale motors ever put into a bike. stay on topi pf your oil changes, check valves every once in a while with plugs, and you will easily get 350K+ miles out of it
-
@ClassicDatsunDebate congrats! Can't wait to hear what you get up to with the Suzuki!

The dealer did a change during pdi, so I’m good for 5000k.

@ClassicDatsunDebate Great purchase!

Congratulations on a great buy. It's even red; my favourite. I think it's a good looking rig.
You're going to have a blast starting with the mid-weight and it's already kitted out for those fun all day outings too.
I suppose I'll have to add this to my ever growing list of being a bad influence.

That really looks good. My personal aesthetic leaves the top box at home but sides still on except for the long trips but that is just me. Great color. Great style. I don’t see what the others who say, “its not he best looker” or whatever are talking about. It has all the small mods you would have had anyway. Windscreen and side guards, etc. Just a great buy. You will have a lot of good times.

@ClassicDatsunDebate amazing, that's going to be a load of fun!
-
Congratulations! Those are great bikes; enjoy it!
-

I’m surprised how awkward I am when I’m trying to mount it with the side bags on….I have to practice.
