Here's a picture of my dad in 2020 in probably one of the last picture of him driving his Mercedes. He really liked that car and maintained it to tip top shape. No mechanical issue was overlooked, it drove essentially as if it was a new car.
Dad shortly after gave up driving because his Parkinson's was causing lost of feeling in his feet. Driving gets hard when you can't tell if you are pushing the brake or the gas......
The house is a friends. It was actually a summer cottage of a local family, built to english/french architecture and materials. Its unoccupied and for sale, but there hasn't been a lot of interest.
The reason it hasn't sold is unlike its curb appeal, the interior is a warren of small, lower ceilinged rooms. Its style I would describe as with a mish mosh of 1920's decor clashing with a '70's refresh. Another minus is boiler heat combined with single pane glass means it would cost a fortune to heat.
By the way, you are looking at an all english slate roof. Too bad in that it is an extraordinary constructed house betrayed by a poorly laid out, impractical interior.
Anyway, it makes a great background for a car picture.
