This is what happens when you put me in charge of road design

I loaded up the first game on my new PC since its Friday and I have approximately zero life. I had started a new city in Cities Skylines with no recollection of how to play. But after playing for an hour, I realized that I had an old save from whenever I bought the game years ago. I recall I had stopped playing because my old laptop was so slow that it was impossible to play any longer. The load times while moving about the map were untenable. Anyways, the first thing I came across was this monstrostity of road design that I came up with. I do not have any mods installed, I am just playing the game vanilla. This whole setup just made me chuckle!
If I lived in this city I would not know how to drive this shit!! Fun game though, I should install some mods and actually figure out how to play it rather than just assume sim city 3k and this are exactly the same.

@Wrong-Wheel-Drive Hey, at least there are roundabouts

That was the only "design" that went into any of this. I literally started with just a roundabout and then built the whole rest of the city. At some point adding a second one and messing with endless intersections in and around it to "improve" my traffic stats.
-
Are these ambulances going somewhere or has there been a horrible/predictable accident?
-
@Wrong-Wheel-Drive I played vanilla for probably five years before installing mods and my god why did I wait so long? I just picked up the Humble Bundle to get the last of my missing DLC and it's like playing a whole new game!

@Wrong-Wheel-Drive one of my first saves had bus lanes like 60m above the ground just wriggling around neighborhoods without any sense of order

(Not so) funny story: this is how a friend crashed my Autozam.
-
@DSM_OR_DIE That doesn't sound like something a friend would do?
-
@Wrong-Wheel-Drive This is my little magnum Opus. Might look like a spaghetti mess but the traffic is actually brilliantly smooth
-
@CarsOfFortLangley the ambulances are in the accident.
-
@DSM_OR_DIE The airport DLC is SOOOOO fun
-
@EssExTee I do want that one, but sadly was not in the Humble Bundle
In any event the trick with traffic is to exceed the agent limit so that cars can't spawn. Though this does kill all your industry.
-
@Wrong-Wheel-Drive I think the most complicated interchange in my big city is this area:
The turbine isn't my design though, so I can't claim credit for that being tidy. The elevated roundabout behind it is more my skill level.
I'm more apt to go crazy with other infrastructure anyway:
I can't find the savegame now, only and older version, but I did at one point have an underground highway through downtown (I was able to expand this city beyond the standard 9 tiles, but did eventually still hit the agent limit):
Space constraints made those underground ramps pretty messy:

God damn it. I wish I'd bought the bundle, but I keep remembering the 72-hour bender I had playing Cities Skylines when I was unemployed.
The end result was not enjoyable. I've since sworn off sandbox builder games. :x

@EssExTee what do americans have against compact, grid cities

Haha this was exactly my thoughts when I saw the suburban sprawl going on in some of these images. I want dystopian levels of density!
-
@Wrong-Wheel-Drive Cities Skylines is the only game I want to play, but my computer is completely inadequate. Someday I'll have to get a computer that's capable of it.
-
@Wrong-Wheel-Drive Any time I've played this, it ends up a semi-grid, semi-looks-like-an-old-TV-antenna, ultra dense hellscape. Efficient, though.

@EssExTee
But where are the Teslas?
