Following up on the X5 megamorph... the transition point. Wagon proportion to SUV proportion. This was still early days, when the SUV craze was beginning to hit hard. BMW handled the transition masterfully. While the chunkier body was unavoidable, the X5 compensated with satisfyingly bulging wheel arches and belt line. The fascia remained on-brand, but the extra height was broken up with multiple levels of intakes and contrasting black trim intersecting the lower area.
If this was the X3, I wouldn't terribly mind.
