Jack Rabbit In The Box

What you're looking at here is one of the most well-known and most desirable Hot Wheels promotionals from the redline era. Back in 1970 Hot Wheels released the Jack Rabbit Special. A futuristic roadster based loosely on the Ford Mustang 1 and Meyers Manx dune buggy. It starred in the 1970 cartoon "Hot Wheels" and in the Hot Wheels comic books. However, it is most famous for being a promotional model for Jack In The Box.
The Jack In The Box promotional launched shortly after the release of the Jack Rabbit casting in 1970. The models were identical and even came on standard blistercards with collector buttons. The only difference was a small water slide decal sheet that was stapled to each card.
An example of such a decal sheet is shown here. It comes with stripes for the sides, a "1" roundel for the back, and a Jack In The Box logo for the hood.
My Jack Rabbit is unfortunately missing the Jack In The Box logo, however it is still a very cool and unusual model to have in my collection.
Thanks for reading!
