Curbs
-
Seen today. Do y’all think this lady has a problem with them?
-
@Mazda616 I remember the Michelins that came on the Challenger had a raised lip to prevent that. They were rubbish otherwise, but it was a nice touch.
-
@Mazda616 This person forgot it isn't the 60s anymore and they don't have curb feelers.
-
problem? what problem? they're useful for telling where the car is!
-
@Mazda616 Damn Mercedes drivers, bunch of idiots.
I like when tires have been curb scraped so many times they become whitewalls.
-
-
@Mazda616 Maybe it's a Mercedes thing? This guy definitely went over a median.
-
@BeaterGT Customer states car pulling to the right
-
@BeaterGT -- The fact that the rear one is still holding air says a lot about how good the modern tire/wheel system is.
-
@Ad-absurdum-per-aspera Yes, and also super lucky. Here's the driver front flat but not nearly as gnarly. I feel like it may have been airborne.
-
@BeaterGT -- Impressive -- yeah, now I too am envisioning an expensive German version of one of those botched muscle-car burnouts on the way out of Cars'n'Coffee, the ones that bounce into the air as they whang through the median strip. There seems to be some body damage too...
-
@Mazda616 just a bit.
-
@Mazda616 "Park by feel"
-
-
@Mazda616 no problem, she seems to love them.
-
Everybody wants the damned sports package, nobody wants to learn to avoid curbs. Or buy tires with sidewall lips on them, at least.
Honestly, the proliferation of oversized wheels is becoming a hazard because hairline cracks are usually not noticeable. First it's a slow leak, but in some cases it's catastrophic wheel failure.

@ash78 Love my sidewall, 8" of it all around!
