It’s like a really big lawnmower…

Continuing with the subframes…
All the dirt and oil and filth cake. I figure getting rid of the grease frosting layer is a good step before I start spraying de-greaser.
yup, a stripe of new looking subframe paint!
All this to then disassemble and then do a real deep clean and paintThe rear subframe gets no such treatment, just trashed.

If it’s any consolation, all of my frame is trashed and none of it will be treated… I’m a responsible guy, I know.

@Demon-Xanth Yep, I need every piece of that.

@GrindIntoSecond a little more minty than mine will ever be, and a lot less stock… but damn that interior…

Once it is thoroughly clean (maybe you could have it sandblasted?) you could do some seam welding and add a couple of gussets here and there, as per Vizard. Not terribly necessary, but not such a bad idea if you ever end up fitting a very powerful engine and/or big wheels.
Same with the rear subframe, whenever that happens.
Talking about wheels... do you intend to go 10"?

@AuthiCooper1300 I have vizzards book. I ‘m working with on hand free here at the moment. So I have knockoff mini lite 12s that came with it to get things rolling, but intend to run 10” rose petals in the end. S brake conversion kit coming. Plus adjustable lower arms. Ive been thinking of the seam welding/gusseting too. I mean, it’s out so that’s the time.
Still planning the 1098 with Russell 68 pistons. Comes with a 12g202 head, great foundation.

Dunno man. Once you get started, gonna be hard to stop…

Excellent!
I'm not sure I would bother with adjustable lower arms, but it won't hurt.
Best of luck!
