Another step closer...

The metal plate you see that the Derale Oil Filter relocation kit is mounted to, that just came in today from China via Xometry.
Cost me about $150, but it's stainless, and the dimensions appear to be just right. This should easily bolt to the empty engine mount hole on the engine. This will be installed during the planned major service (and oil change) in late August. Liberal use of threadlock will be required.
Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to seeing what @DuckDuckGreyDuck can do for me in regards to my steering column project.
Edit: In case anyone didn't realize - I designed the mounting plate.

@NKato Ooooo, very nice!
-
@NKato very cool.
What's the issue your plate fixes?
-
@NKato
What kind of design file did you send them to work from? -
@jminer my car has skid plates, and it makes it inconvenient to work with the oil filter. So this is more or less an experiment to see if a relocation kit will help with making it easier to work with.
The filter will be relocated to a spot right above the oil pan.

@SantaBarbarian STEP. Instant quoting engine handled the rest, provided there was no complex geometry.
-
@NKato makes sense. Aren't you a machinist? I'd think you've got the skill to make something that's functionality similar with a band saw, drill press and metal brake with some lighter gauge steel.
Still cool as hell though!
-
@jminer yes but sheet metal is a different matter for me. I need the correct tools like laser cutter, and a brake press. Which I don't.

Thanks!

@NKato another sheetmetal place ive had good luck with is oshcut out the Utah. threre si also Rapid part fo protolabs, but you'll get your quote in 3-5 days.
