Production Version 2021 Honda Ridgeline
-
Now that I am a Honda Ridgeline owner, I am also a member of the Ridgeline FB group where surprisingly everyone seems to not be a bunch of idiots unlike the Mazda3 owners group. Mazda3 owners be like will 20's fit on my car?
Someone spied this production version 2021 Ridgeline down in Georgia. I think they are made in Alabama. Frankly I like it and if it catches on I think Honda is going to make bank on them. -
I can't decide if I love or hate those wheels! Otherwise I think it looks pretty good except how they dealt with the fuel door.
-
I want to replace the “HPD” with HRC and add a retro red/white/blue color scheme.
-
why does the fake bug guard go into the headlights?
-
@mm54 I'm not really sure what is going on there but it looks integrated.

Well maybe after the fenders rust out?

Can a bike fit in the back of these?
-
@dipodomysdeserti This on the hood?
-
haha
-
@highlander I recently learned that those massive plastic fender overarches are an option (or package-specific). That makes me glad.
-
@facw Dear god, no. Maybe this photo on the hood.
-
@Highlander No on the wheels. HPD means Houston Police Department to me, so that's too jarring. as they'll either shoot me (unwarranted of course) or ignore me for hours/days/infinite time. Ughhhhhhhhh
Give a retro red/white/blue as mentioned above, keep the wheels gold but change the style. Also it needs 2cyl, 2 wheels, and some knobbies. Here, I'll just quickly throw a photoshop together. The new 2021 Honda Ridgeline:
-
@dipodomysdeserti You're the one who asked for HRC...
-
@highlander I like the overall package. I could see myself in something similar when the days of needing to haul around 4 kids and their stuff is gone.
-
@facw Oh fuck no.
-
Doesn't/didn't Toyota do a very similar TRD graphic where the HPD is on the Ridgeline? Or am I just imagining things? Also there is too many badges on the tailgate.
-
@civicwagonengineer Trying to be like TRD Tacomas was my thoughts exactly.

Or clad, depending on the package you choose.
-
Honda reliability and the ability to do truckly things? Sounds like a winning formula to me. I never see many of these and wonder why.
-
@houstonrunner I'm really liking my 2011.
-
-
@chariotoflove I ask myself the same question, and I think the answer is that people shopping trucks buy a Tacoma or a full size "american" truck. I'm pretty sure the Ridgeline I bought had been at the Ram dealer I bought it from for a few months and they had lowered the price quite a bit before I bought it. I also don't have any self image qualms about driving odd ball cars, to me it keeps life interesting. I'm a 6'4" tall guy who has been driving a Mazda3 and a Datsun 240Z the last few years after all. The Ridgeline is the largest vehicle I've ever owned.
-
@highlander Where everyone seems to look to drive the accepted brand, I look for the unusual alternative, too. So, I can relate.
-
@Highlander I wouldn't be surprised if this HPD package is a dealer-installed option. Like on my Si there was an HFP (Honda Factory Performance) package that includes a body kit, wheels, racecar red floor mats, retuned adaptive suspension (new springs, shocks & computer for the shocks) and HFP badges.

The fuel door is terrible, as are the bottoms of the wheel arches. I don't like black plastic trim to begin with but at least make it a smooth arch (I'm looking at you crosstrek).
