do you want to play a game?

@derp I've put worse things in my mouth.
-
@derp no thanks

Reminds me of Sweeney Todd. The "humans in the meat pies" scam came crashing down when somebody found a fingernail in a pie.

@ttyymmnn wasn't there a lawsuit against mcdonalds where someone claimed to have found a fingertip in their mcnugget?
-
@derp suddenly I'm not hungry anymore...

It turns out the customer had planted the finger in their nuggets after they got it. They even found whose finger it was.

@WhoIsTheLeader that's some serious buy-in for that scam
"Trust me dude, I got a plan. We're gong to be rich. But first I'mma need to take a finger"
-
@beefchips Lower level Yakuza scams.

That does sound familiar.

@beefchips Part of the reason they were initially suspicious is that the finger wasn't very fresh and it had been poorly preserved in ice for a long time, if I recall. Searching the topic mostly brings up sensationalist clickbait articles but I'm sure you can find some actual journalism on the topic somewhere.

@derp Depends if the toenail was added before or after baking. If it was added before it baked, the heat should of kill any germs and all that's left is some nail... possibly softened

@krustywantout I definitely have. About 21 years ago, I was at a remote site dealing with some network issues for my (then) employer. I finished up and wanted a snack to eat on the way back to the main office. I know it was chocolate chip cookies I got out of that vending machine. I think they were Famous Amos. I also know one of them had a folded up band-aid in it.
Somehow I managed to not toss my cookies (hey-o) but I definitely didn't finish the bag. It's a wonder I didn't catch some nasty affliction, but I figured the baking process probably killed anything biological left on it.

@mocamino It wasn't prepackaged food but I wonder found the finger tip of a latex glove in burrito. I'm glad they were wearing gloves and it was an honest enough mistake. It was maybe 1\8 inch. I still ate it because damn Pericos in Albuquerque is good.
