Someone explain to me why this lasted 4 hours, much less 4 days. Less than 9 grand for a running, numbers-matching, clean classic convertible??

It's three on the tree. The people who have come to test drive either don't know how to drive a stick, or they don't know how to shift a stick with a column lever.

The bigger problem is that there isn't any nostalgia for this car.

That's how I learned to drive a stick, on some crappy old Chevy pickup with a column lever.

I guess because I didn't grow up as a car aficionado, I basically have no allegiance to any particular cars/brands (Jeeps being the obvious weird exception). I love convertibles, I find old cars fascinating, and to me this is the epitome of what I'd want as a cruiser if I weren't spending all my money trying to fix my Jeeps.

@just-jeepin I think the potential buyers have exhausted their money in the "Super Fun Time" jar and are running on fumes from the "Emergency" jar. More than likely, they are still unemployed like me😣

@boredalways I can't imagine, and I'm impressed you've managed to this point. I'd be in serious trouble were I unemployed for a couple of months, much less this long.

Of all the clean, running, number-matching convertibles of the 60's, a 63 valiant is pretty far down the list

Craigslist will push me, and I'll say no; read my lips: no new projects.

@just-jeepin not a big market for a non-muscle car from the muscle car era.
Looks...ok in pics but there are a few red flags including the respray. Also there’s something going on with the rear axle/ spring install.

@just-jeepin I wouldn't be a bit surprised, if this is actually a total bondo-bucket in person.

@just-jeepin IIRC, this is the last year Valiants came exclusively with slant sixes, which is one of several 6s I'd gladly take over a comparable V8 (along with the Buick 3800 and AMC/Jeep I6, of course).

It's just not a super desirable car, and numbers matching doesn't really matter on a 225 car. The respray could also be hiding a lot.

@Just-Jeepin Not a lot of love for early 60s Mopars or Valiants so it a tough combo. Would need a thorough inspection to make sure it’s not more bondo than metal.

I won’t lie, I thought about it. Maybe someday I’ll have fun car money saved up.
