@ranwhenparked I'm no expert on this but some quick googling says probably J. Paul Getty and his oil wealth if you count oil as a tangible thing. Also I wouldn't call Tesla an old-school manufacturer. They're a techbro/VC company that manufactures things.

@texturedsoyprotein they're old-school in the sense that they don't just pay some automaker in China to build all their cars for them and slap a "designed in USA" sticker on the window glass, which would be the more usual Silicon Valley model

@ranwhenparked Yes Tesla actually builds things but they are run by a tech billionaire, funded by venture capital (before they went public), and valued like a tech company.
