Sitting in an enclosed touchless car wash in an uncatalyzed vehicle with nothing better to do raised the question:
What else should I have expected, really.
Needless to say, I survived...

Well an engine is an air pump so I guess there is still no replacement for displacement if you're going for speed. I am also curious how long is ok to run an engine inside I will frequently run a car in my shop with the door closed for 10-20 seconds(1000sqft) but wonder how long it would take to be a problem. Also 34 tabs? Looks like my wife has been on your phone.
-
@smallbear doesn't your car wash place have notices up to turn off the engine? (but leave ignition on to prevent steering lock)
-
@smallbear I don't know but I started the Camaro last weekend and even with the doors open the unburned hydrocarbons made my eyes sting in short order. I don't know how much CO was in with it but it couldn't have been healthy.

When I start my cars in their storage units (door open, obv) I'm surprised at how quickly it is hard to be in there. I guess I should check for exhaust leaks...
-
@smallbear I dismissed that as a practical idea pretty quickly, most modern engines burn so cleanly as to leave far too much time for a nosy, do-gooder neighbor to find you.

My guess is it's not a fast process in any case, but I WAS curious...
And HA. I cut my tabs down this morning. They tend to creep up to around 50.

Nope, never seen anything like that.

I couldn't smell anything, which is actually unusual--this thing usually smells like an abused snowblower in the open air. I imagine the water in the air has a purifying effect.

Yeah, I "repaired" that issue last summer
