I'm tired of school... and life...
-
Hm. When do you start back up?
-
@Genesis_Haysenhox September
-
@Genesis_Haysenhox Hupmobile was a carmaker from before WWII that was always an "also-ran", so they tried to make up the gap in being pretentious.
So their ads are always a little weird, and posting them is fun. -
Interesting. Never heard of it.
-
Wow...
So you guys get a much-shortened summer break?! That's awful, but I guess you're used to it.
We get off June 3 and start back up in September-ish
-
@Genesis_Haysenhox Most of their ads are also artistically interesting, because the Art Deco movement in design was in full swing when they were marketing most furiously.
-
@Genesis_Haysenhox said in I'm tired of school... and life...:
I guess so.
Whats a Hupmoblie ad?
You played right into his hands...
-
@Genesis_Haysenhox It’s always been like this. I don’t mind because I enjoy school but I know many think that it goes on too long.
I wouldn’t know what to do with all that time off, I think I would find it quite boring.
-
@Chariotoflove If I'd done the whole thing as kind of a meta-narrative from the start and done it as a joke that Genesis_Haysenhox was being boring and therefore I was posting Hupmobile ads, that would have been mean, but kind of clever. Nah, I just can't quit the Hupp.
-
Good for you.
I'd much rather be out of school than in it, even if I have nothing to do. I guess we have different stances on that.
-
@Genesis_Haysenhox I’ve always liked school, I really enjoy the lessons and have some great teachers. I think you may have a different opinion.

probably should be in the Infiniti post:
Wife likes her Infinitis. Q50 now, Q60 (G37 coupe) previously.
She'd previously only driven puny front-drive sedans since her home country taxes vehicles by engine displacement. This also means she learned to treat the gas, brake and steering inputs as on/off switches ...
The Q60 was a rocket ship. V6 sounded great, transmission in sport mode was snappy. I was talking to her when she was driving back from a late work shift and there was a lot of roaring wind noise. Was the weather acting up? Checked online and outside, nope.
"Wait, how fast are you driving?"
Her: ...
(wind noise fades somewhat)
The Q50 is less entertaining. Everything's softer and quieter - turbos, noise cancellation, softer suspension. She still drives it like a demon. I took it in for an oil change and the shop asked me if I'd been racing it, pointing to the worn tires and brakes.
Also amusing is that the estimated mpg goes up by 1-2 whenever I drive for a day.

I do love our Q60....
