Rainy November day during pandemic
-
We were staring cabin fever right in the face, so my daughter and I took a road trip around St. Louis County looking for air cooled Porsches.
We swung by Daniel Schmidt & Co., Reid Vann, & Porsche STL intentionally, but managed to find a black 964 for sale at Lindbergh Motorsport.
Daniel Schmidt & Co., is a palace, but the 911s are low mileage examples & I need a driver.
We also say a very old, soft top G Wagen at a hooptie shop on Route 66.

Looks like a Old Pizza Hut?!?!

Oh, Volvo 1800! Derelict but still beautiful. G Wagen is an oldie too, probably imported.
-
That poor Volvo makes me sad....gorgeous cars...
-
@rallydarkstrike That's the kinda car project that would lead to a divorce!

That particular one maybe, yes, but I've only ever seen one P1800 coupe in person and it was stunning.....such pretty cars!
-
@rallydarkstrike Never seen an 1800 in person but I did see a stunning Amazon coupe in action once.
-
@WhoIsTheLeader I have seen an Amazon in person....sort-of!
Fun fact, the Amazons that were built at Volvo's now-defunct factory here in Nova Scotia in Halifax were renamed the 'Volvo Canadian' for the Canadian market! I've seen this one at the Nova Scotia Museum of Industry....it's stunning!

@rallydarkstrike Because it's Canadian, let's call it The Canadian! So original haha. Didn't know that but of trivia. They are gorgeous machines. The one I saw was white but I couldn't tell the interior color as it was driving alongside me on the interstate.
That museum sounds interesting. Have any photos from it?

Riding around with my daughter looking at cars while we do errands is one of the most important parts of my life. So many precious memories! I like seeing someone else making them too.

@WhoIsTheLeader Sadly, I've not been there for a long time, so I have no pics, but they have a lot on their website, it's a very cool place!
