So I've done lots of "what cars would you buy for X amount of money" posts over the years.
But I'm obsessed with watches right now. So How about this. You've for 10,023 (I had to add the 23 for reasons) imaginary dollars in Teddy Baldassarre store credits to buy a watch collection.
What are you buying? I'll put mine in the comments incase you want to do yours without seeign mine. -
@HFV I'm gonna from cheapest to most expansive.
first, I love the G-shock 2100s and RED for $99
Second, a watch I might actually buy. This Zelos mako V3 300m Titanium in burgundy. for $549
Third this Junghans max bill Damen. love the red, this ones $600.
Fourth this Tissot PRX with the 18k gold fluted bezel for 1,850.
Fith, this Mido Multifort Chrono Adventure for 2,130 I'm a big black watch guy. and this one look great IMO
Sixth, this Hamilton Intra-matic blue dial for $2,195
Last but not least this bronze case Oris Big Crown for 2,6oo.
7 watches for a grand total of 10,023 dollars. -
1 watch. something with a tourb. i don't keep an eye on that end of the market so i have no idea what, but that's the answer
-
@Nauraushaun can you get a tourbillon for less than 10k?
-
@HFV a chinese 2d sure
-
@HFV They don’t have the Oris models I like better, so this one for $2600
https://teddybaldassarre.com/products/big-crown-pro-pilot-timer-gmt-textile
This B&R for $4000
https://teddybaldassarre.com/collections/bell-ross/products/br-03-92-nightlum?variant=32955409072221
Nomos for $4100
Slightly over, I’d probably look for a slightly cheaper Nomos instead.
-
@MUSASHI66 That Bell&Ross is very cool. I've seen that Nomos with a Red dial, Thats right up my ally.
-
@HFV i like vintage watches so probally a few grand on 30t2 pilot, seamaster devilles and the like.
!
I like this speedy but id probably go for whatever fit into my budget and a nice leather strap to round out.
-
@Shoop oh and a mondaine stop2go
-
@Shoop I had to look that up. seems like a very silly device. but so is a mechanical watch in 2022
-
@HFV its got a neat history. A guy i knew got one for $600 in drop believe it or not

lol, good point
perhaps not!
-
@HFV Okay, here we go:
Fun, fun, fun on the Autobahn.
I've always quite fancied an old-school Rado and I really like the dial and logo on the Golden Horse.
https://teddybaldassarre.com/collections/hamilton/products/ventura-quartz?variant=32870598180957
I love design-driven watches like the Ventura, although I'd prefer the metal bracelet version, which they didn't have listed.
I quite fancy a moonphase watch too and this one has a beautiful dial. The open heart is a nice feature as well.
A daily workhorse and who doesn't like a green dial?
All that for a grand total of $9870. That would leave me with $153 to get the metal bracelet upgrade on the NOMOS.

I've already got the only watch I've ever really wanted-
I do like the "Japan Racing" Speedmaster too though.
-
@TheJWT i will never not upvote a picture of your pogue; love that you wear that thing daily. how's it held up? ive owned quite a few vintage seikos over the years and ive mostly sworn off of them given how fragile they can be (not to mention the minefield that is the pogue market) but youre making me slowly reconsider...
-
@dejock It loses about a minute or two per day, and mine is far from original. A friend of mine is a vintage Seiko collector and he cringes every time he seems my Pogue. I love it though, and I wear it every single day, because original or not, I think It's the nicest looking watch ever made. The values have gone pretty wacky since I bought mine 2 years ago...

All watch values have gone crazy since 2020. I do sort of wish I'd bit the bullet and paid 8-9k for one of the 36mm Oyster Perpetuals, they're ~13k now.
-
@HFV hey if I'm gonna get a fancy watch, it's gotta look like a fancy watch. Those are all too boring.
I recently discovered these neat ones from Xeric:
-
@MybirdIStheword i just stumbled onto another version of that Xeric.
I like them, but it seems impossible to read the time. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Xeric-Trappist-1-American-Moonphase-Gunmetal-Red/333953731?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101137663
EDIT: just watched a reviw of them. Now I want one. The second hand does still seem too hard to see against the dial tho. Guess I'll have to get the Meteorite one -
-
@HFV I think the moon phase ones are easier to read there are like 4 nearly identical "limited editions" check their website
