Does anyone have a Samsung M400 (SPH-M400)?
-
I'm trying to recover some data on one of these for a friend using the Samsung Kies software. The problem is that I don't know how to get it into whatever mode is necessary for a USB connection. Ordinarily this wouldn't be an issue, but this phone's display was broken off; the rest of the phone appears to work OK, but I have no idea what keys I need to press to get it into MTP mode. The manual isn't of much help, and the cost to buy a replacement display or another phone to get the display is prohibitive.I'm hoping that someone out there has one of these and can guide me through the keypresses necessary to connect it. Please let me know.
Thanks!

What data could it possibly have that is worth recovering?

@whoistheleader According to the owner, there are contacts (phone numbers and email addresses) and some pictures. These weren't backed up to a computer, hence the need to extract them.

I have a Samsung flip that's a similar vintage, but a different model so I'm not sure if this will help...
Often when I plug it into my computer to transfer data, it won't connect because whoops I'm supposed to turn off Bluetooth first. As soon as I open the flip (phone on and plugged in), it will display a prompt "Deactivate Bluetooth?". Upper left key is "Yes", upper right key is "No". Once BT is deactivated, I can read all contents including SD card and internal phone memory.

@whoistheleader Snake high scores and the phone number of your high school girlfriend. You know, the important stuff.

@urambo-tauro I'll give that a try. Thanks!
