Fresh Recaros for Portia
-
I picked up my 944's newly re-covered seats from the upholsterer today; here they are:
In '84 the 911 and 944 shared a few optional parts. The Recaro Sport seats and 3-spoke Porsche steering wheel were two of them. If I can't have the motor in the back, the seats and steering wheel are a nice consolation prize!

Your car has the best name possible, love it.

Love the Recaros in my MINI

@spacekraken Thanks man. As a fan of the original Arrested Development, (and of the original Portia), I thought it was a fitting moniker.
@britsnswedes-was-minigti Agreed. They really know how to make a seat. I've had them in the past in Subarus, and currently both my MX-3 and Porsche.

This was the state of the interior when I picked her up this summer:
The dash was terrible. I found a replacement used dash, ripped the old one out, and cleaned things up along the way.
The new-to-me dash isn't perfect, but very few 944s are sporting crack-free dashes.
I'm doing timing and balance belts, so the car is stuck in the garage for the moment, but when complete I'll have some decent pics of the finished interior. It's been a project!

Beautiful interior. I love the 944 body style - timeless and classy.

I was confused for a minute, like, "Why does Alanis King's cat need Recaros? Did she get a new cat stroller?"
But anyways, those are hella fresh.

@ed should have got the middle part in houndstooth! But really looks great

@Poor_sh houndstooth can be amazing in 911s, and lots of other stuff, but somehow I don't feel like it jives with the 944. That said, Pasha would have been cool if the fabric (and other bits, can't have just seats) weren't so expensive. I went with perforated leather, simple black stitching and piping. This was how these seats were delivered originally. Kinda boring, but appropriate for the rest of the car, I think. Gotta keep things in balance.
