Long day that's gonna see some positive change in the community, I hope. Grabbed the dog and my camera since I've never seen the Northern Lights stretch as far south as they did tonight.
-
@CB I would give anything to see that.
-
@CarsOfFortLangley A flight to Saskatoon and a few nights in rural Saskatchewan? Some would call that a fate worse than death!
My new guy is from Ontario. Made him drag his wife out to see them since she's never seen them before. Worth it.
-
@CB Totally awesome always wanted to see them, great pics.
-
@CB Absolutely stunning, thank you for sharing them!
-
Dang, I've always wanted to see the Northern Lights. It's on my bucket list. Massive solar flares going on right now, which may well be causing the spectacular show.
-
@CB Gorgeous! I heard on the radio that this hit most of the UP in Michigan. Still something I've never seen.
-
@CB That's got to be the best part of being out there. Jealous you get to see them on a semi-regular basis. I haven't seen any for 30 years!

(it appears that bit is now 40 years old. I guess that's what you call good marketing!)

Awesome pictures!
I've seen the lights once, in northern Wisconsin, when I was... maybe 15? I still remember them vividly, lo these long decades later.
Based on the relatively sharp landscape, I assume you used a tripod? What about exposure length?
Also, positive change in the community is positive.

I missed this. Six seconds at f/2.8, used a tripod and a timed shutter so that me clicking the shutter doesn't shake the camera.

Six seconds at f/2.8
Nice! I have a 15-30mm Tamron that goes to f/2.8. It's one of my favorite lenses to (try to) get good night sky pictures.

@CB Beautiful
