I found a relic

Double relic, actually. First cars stopped having one end of it, then phones stopped having the other.
-
@EssExTee I still keep one of these in my center console. Despite the fact my new phone doesn't have a 3.5mm and didn't come with a dongle.

@EssExTee said in I found a relic:

The fact of the second part of that statement irritates me.

@EssExTee I hate those. I drove an 08 Azera for a while with no aux in or bluetooth but not a din radio. i had to use this and it was terrible.
-
@EssExTee I had one of these until last Sunday. the radio on my boat had a cassette deck. but it's gone, so now I don't own anything with a cassette player. I left the adapter in the boat.
-
@HammerheadFistpunch they made/make bluetooth rechargeable ones that were good for like eight hours of playtime. No wire coming from the dash and you could list to music AND charge your phone at the same time.
-
@EssExTee I packed up one of these with the cheap CD player it came with and dropped it at Goodwill only a few years ago. It was part of a big purge of crap I never used anymore.
-
@EssExTee When my car was robbed in 2013, the thief stole one of my two cassette adapters (among other things). It was already pretty obsolete at that point, so I never even bothered to find out if they stole the working one (that I had a broken one and didn't just throw it out probably says something about me). The speakers on my HTC One were pretty good, and I soon switched to a Grom Bluetooth adapter to retrofit that into my S40 (I kept the adapter when my S40 was flooded and it's now in my S60).

@EssExTee And yet, they still rock (out). Better signal than a radio transmitter.

@EssExTee
Oh, I’ve got one of those hanging around. I’m a pack rat. -
@EssExTee I've got one of those in my desk back home at my moms house.
-
@EssExTee I know I have one kicking around somewhere, still used one until a few years ago when I sold the Volvo.
-
@EssExTee I use a tape adapter in my Eagle, and have to plop a lightning adapter onto that to use my phone with it. I have a Bluetooth version of one somewhere, but the adapter battery is shit.
-
@EssExTee I am still mad phones don't have a 3.5mm anymore. I have no headphones when my wireless ones die, and they don't work while charging.
