None, Calvin, none. There are no guarantees in life. Maybe you can become Internet famous, because that requires no real work at all.

@ttyymmnn I mean, she's not wrong.

no real work at all
Some have gotten it with no work at all.
Some got it and kept it because they work their asses off.
Some spend way too much time working toward it with no hope of it ever paying off.
-
@ttyymmnn That sounds so much like my son, it hurts.

She's not, and his response is sadly common.

My high school sophomores complain that the teachers don't give them handouts with all the answers on them. They don't like the fact that they have to use their brain to figure things out, or look more deeply for answers that aren't obvious. It would be a triumph if I could get them to even take notes in class. They still think that watching a video counts for studying. Of course, the teachers aren't really disabusing them of that notion.

@ttyymmnn Yeah, well just getting some of them to watch the fucking video, is like pulling teeth from a fucking alligator these days, trust me. 95% of the drawings my kids turn in, they actually do have the answer key in front of them, and many of them still look at me like I'm some kind of asshole when I won't tell them WHICH dimensions are missing. I've literally screamed at them on occasions, "YOU HAVE THE ANSWER KEY IN FRONT OF YOU!"
