Quick! your house is burning down and you can only grab one thing...

...so this is what I grab.
I posted this in 2015 on Kinjoppo, and I figured it's still relevant wherever we post, so I share.

@chariotoflove phone, wallet and car keys
Everything else can burn -

@chariotoflove Sammy, wallet, keys, notebook. Everything else is replaceable*.
I should really get a fireproof safe for my important documents though.. -

I should really get a fireproof safe for my important documents though..No joke. We have one. They're not expensive. The real joke is that for a while, my wife lost the key! Fortunately we found it.
-
@chariotoflove We've had a fireproof safe for probably 15 years and have never used it. I'm afraid now that if I start, my house will burn down.
-
@Chariotoflove All my data, photos, important docs is backed up to two different cloud providers. Wife is the one thing I grab.
On the way out - phone, wallet, car keys cats if they’re close.
Also love that pic - very accurate workflow for commenting.
-
@cb I bought one years ago, but lost the key. I popped it open with a hammer and a screwdriver, it was disappointingly easy. I has things like vehicle titles and birth certificates, but nothing that isn’t replaceable. I ordered new social security cards and birth certificate online this summer, surprisingly easy to do. The safe is now just a place I keep stuff I don’t want to loose. All the really important docs I have digital copies of.

@chariotoflove What if I say you and your entire graphic are wrong?

Then we begin a recursive loop that takes down the internet.

At least you’re not superstitious.

Sounds good to me...

Some people just want to watch the net burn.
-
I would at least make an attempt to control the fire by urinating on it first...
-
Hosepipe or fire extinguisher.

Being on a boat, I have a dich bag labeled "Abandon". It is waterproof and floats. It also contains my important papers, cat folder, food, stove, and other things to survive in a lifeboat. Or just climb down the ladder and watch the boat burn. Anyway, it is the one thing that I can rebuild my life from in any port. Sans phone or wallet it has enough numbers and IDs to begin again from.
I would chase the cats off first. No, there is not food for them in the boat bag, something that should be rectified...

Can we assume my phone wallet and keys are in my pockets (which is usually the case) and grab my laptop? It'd suck to lose all my hats, my Nintendo Wii, my 8TB harddrive with many memories stashed on it, and my uber-powerful gaming computer, but I spend a lot more time on this laptop than anything else.
