Can it be true?

A real forum. Where pictures work? OMG!
IT'S EVERYTHING I'VE EVER WANTED FROM KINJA BUT COULDN'T HAVE!
-
@4x98 Still working on layout customization but so far I quite like the notifications and editing. Drag and Drop images in composing is sweet too.
-
@jminer Soo much better than Kinja. If this is the way it goes, I'm beyond happy already. If it goes this way, setup an Oppo Patreon so we can chip in to support.
-
@4x98 Others have mentioned the same as far as support goes. We'll see what the community wants to do. I don't really want to build something that will fracture the community but I know a lot of people don't love drivetribe (myself included). While this doesn't toss image thumbnails in the feed it does almost everything else we used Kinja for and seems less confusing that drivetribe.
If this does become our mainstream site I'll redo the infrastructure and setup a patreon for covering hosting costs.

@jminer DriveTribe is just dogshit in my opinion. The interface is actively conspiring against the user. Much happier with this format.
-
@jminer I'm also not a large fan of DT. I'd stick it out if there was no alternative. But I'd prefer a dedicated house for us vs the apartment building that is DT. I'm unemployed and have very little spending cash, but I'd put money into keeping a format more like this alive. Maybe some colour later down the line. Brilliant white is a bit much, but early days and it already works as well as or better than Kinja.
And OMG, it even tells me when I've lost my connection to the server! BEFORE I attempt to post! Madness! Even through closing my web browser!

@sn4cktimes check out the notifications - real time without having to refresh and it takes you to the actual reply too...
-
@jminer It's like all the things we wished kinja could do, but never did.
-
@jminer I want to post pictures simply because I can. This is weird. Al this basic functionality.
<head explodes>
-
Takes a bit of getting used to, but I like it!
-
This is real forum functionality, instead of just a blog shoehorned into forum duties.
-
Which is why I love it.
