Had another go at DT... NOPE...

The layout seems wasteful... A 1/3 of the screen is an Ad that I don't want to look at with more whitespace. Chuff....
I'll stick with The Hyphen, thanks...
So, anyone get that Kinja topic exporter working seamlessly yet ? I'd like to grab half a dozen longform posts/reviews I did there. Still not convinced I can do better than save as... PDF in Chrome right now...

@doodon2whls It’s laborious, but I saved all mine by first clicking Edit then copy paste into a text document. Pictures then got saved with text in a folder. I can recreate them in Hyphen, but it’s a bit of work. People bitch about Kinja, but the editor is quite good.

At the moment, it does not retain the post age and 3 buttons move after you move to another page as they are only doing AJAX calls and not loading a fully new page ; i know how to fix it and it should not be too much work to fix it ; tell me if you are interested.
At least the CSS fixes that limit some of the wasted space is always working even after changing pages.
And the main dev acknowledged that a compact view would be a good thing.
About my archive tool, i have it running on auto mode at the moment on Oppo and LaLD, fetching all posts from a blog from newest to oldest.
All the posts from The Cigar Lounge and Overlanding should already have been saved.
Tell me if there are other blogs that might be interesting to save.
It's not adding comments, at least at the moment but is fetching the JSON with their content, i will do another pass later to at least retrieve images/videos embedded in comment then will have time to figure a way to bring back the comments.
Index pages with the title, thumbnail and poster date like the main page of blogs will also be fixable later, the most urgent mater being to save the datas that won't be available no more.

If you're using Google Chrome just pop on an adblocker. I only see the "Ad? Remove" text every now and again, makes reading things much easier.

@davesaddiction I think the CEO jumped when he realized need to get out in front of the casual acts of cosmetic reconstruction in their environment Oppo had evolved towards.

@jb-boin Nice !
I just saved 'a couple' of my posts as PDF's.... That's at least a first attempt...
DT is "nice" but it just has an odd feel to it. I think it will work great to utilize both tools equally though. DT would work great as a front page of sorts (similar to how jalopnik worked as the front page for kinja oppo). Either way this apocalypse is a great thing because kinja truly sucked. Both options are infinite improvements.

I found DT's post editor really frustrating to use. Too many flashy icons and not enough basic tools.
Or maybe I just gave up too soon, I dunno. It's such a weird interface.
