They tend to have short shelf lives too, hardly managing to sell for more than about two years. I quite often see the Peugeot RCZ which fell into that category and PSA said never again.
Having so said, the Scirocco sold steadily if unspectacularly right to the end. -

The Scirocco had a hot hatch look and practicality which could be the reason it did not fail too terribly.
