Got a new plow with folding wings, but there is a bunch of fragile hydraulic fittings and connections and valves located in a bad spot at the top of the plow.

When snow is heavy and plentiful, it rides up the plow and over the top, landing on all of these critical components, eating through hoses and corroding connection points. We have had this issue with all the plows we have, so I decided to make a deflector shield.

I used the plate bolts for mounting points, and it should all just bolt on and cover the bits! Enjoyable because I get to bash metal.image1 (1).jpeg image0 (2).jpeg
And now I don't have to worry about stupid expensive bits!

You just ruined the company's planned obsolescence. I'm of the opinion you should have put the signs facing the other way to direct traffic in front of you away from your plow.

@whoistheleader You're implying that people pay attention, or can read! Thats why I used street signs, nobody knows what they're for anyway!

@st80mnd What about a detour sign plus a turn left sign in case you ever end up plowing near traffic?

Tried a sign post as a floor board once, worked good. I endorse tax dollars being used for personal gain in this instance.

@rctothefuture We had to weld in a new floor on our old toolcat last week, and that was my exact suggestion! We put a new real floor in it, not the sign tho.

@st80mnd all for the best, I'm sure. Buying any vehicle and seeing a stop sign underneath during inspection can cause more questions than you'd like when reselling.

There are signs on streets? Wow that would make my life so much easier.

@st80mnd Deflector Shields? So I’m guessing you call the plows headlights “photon launchers”? 🤓

I have a few little pieces left of a sign that I’ve mostly used as backing plates over the years. I wonder where I’ll get another.

I got dive bombed and then road raged upon the other day by a likely drunk crazy lady in a 428i vert. After the first time she dove in front of me while I was in the right lane on the highway, she kept speeding up and slowing down and not signaling. Then it turned out she was going to the same exit as me, which forks to go east or west, and she was in the right fork to go east but then cut across dividing lines to go west, again, right in front of me. Then on the local road she kept turning on her rear fogs and stopping short in front of me, in the middle of the road not at a light, all because SHE cut ME off on the highway. Finally I got around her and she flipped me the bird.

Then she turned into her neighborhood which is a small patch of townhouses with only one entrance/exit.

Ever since then I've been tempted to get an outdoor sign holder and place it at said entrance saying,

WATCH OUT FOR YOUR NEIGHBOR IN THE BLACK BMW CONVERTIBLE, SHE'S A CRAZY DRUNK DRIVING ROAD RAGING BITCH.

But... That's far more money, time and effort than I feel like committing to revenge for such a low level offense.
