8538D237-68EA-48A5-AA50-71086F13B570.png Thoughts on season 2? I’ve been entertained on how many things from the SW games made it into the show. The Dark Trooper were a nice touch. They even kind of sounded like the old Dark Forces games. Seeing folks deal with the ramifications of the war has also been good. Bill Burr killed it, and his old commander, in the episode that he was on. Giancarlo Espisito continues to be awesome.

Last episode was great. By far the best. A lot of people are complaining about the CGI on the Jedi that showed up at the end. Didn't bother me a bit because it didn't matter. I wonder now, though, if the entire Baby Yoda storyline is ended. It would be the end of their merch gravy train.

Also, that end credit scene was awesome.

@ttyymmnn I really did like this last episode. Although, the end credit seemed a bit of a stretch. Dude comes in, shoots up the joint, and takes his seat. Boy, that was easy, someone should have done that years ago.

I think it would be tough for Disney to walk away from baby Yoda and Mando. Just too much money to be made.

Boba at the end was fantastic. My wife’s theory is that he is going to end slavery on Tatoine. Maybe.

I wounded if there is any chance of running two shows. Have the Boba Fett show and then follow it it with a third season of Mando dealing with Bo Katan.

@dealkillerpoweredbyfocus look, if Bib Fortunate was able to take over after Jabba how hard could it have been?

Enjoyed it quite a lot. My biggest complaint is still that Ahsoka's head tails were way too small. Guess they blew all the CGI budget on that other Jedi.

@ttyymmnn, it will be interesting to see how they handle that. Does baby Yoda abandon his training? Do we get some sort of a time skip? We know that somewhere along the line, Ben Solo/Kylo Ren kills his master's other students, so I hope Baby Yoda will have completed his training and/or left before that happens.

Regardless, we've got some big hooks to continue with, including our boy Mando having a claim to the throne of Mandalore, and whatever Grand Admiral Thrawn is up to (also, a possible appearance by the Jedi Ezra Bridger, who was last seen dragging Thrawn through hyperspace to points unknown).

@f86sabre in general the fight choreography seemed rushed. Alot of action scenes did little to make any of our protagonist seem vulnerable, the set pieces were still great(8x8 mining truck situation, giant worm etc). The filler fight scenes have lots of punches or jabs that don't look like they tried to land.

When the plot is moving along with conversation its entertaining, the sets are Excellent. Kinda hope this is the end of the baby yoda plot line and the show goes into more mini adventures of Mando getting a new plane

I guess Ahsoka is getting her own show, so I assume Thrawn will be the big baddie for that series.

@sony1492 It's true that the fights have some of the fakest looking blows I've seen in a long time, way out of character with the show's otherwise high production values. Both Ahsoka's and the other Jedi's fighting feels pretty slow compared to other recent Star Wars stuff, but that might be a deliberate throwback to the slower duels of the original trilogy. Or maybe it was just easier (also Ahsoka is 45 or something, maybe she's just getting slow)

@just-jeepin Ooh, I didn't know that, but that would make a lot of sense for a new Ahsoka show.

I don't know why they're complaining. That was really good CG. Mark Hamill's face was motion captured, de-aged and then put on a body double. The company that did the work invented it for Benjamin Button and have been improving it ever since.

I love this show so, so much.

@facw the duels were okay in my book, they at least took more time with those then blowing through 40 storm troopers then getting "pinned down" by 5 moments later

@just-jeepin I'm really hoping that isn't where the Ashoka show actually goes. Thrawn is Ezra and Sabine's unfinished business and replacing a Rebels sequel with the Ahsoka show would be a major disappointment to me.

@theturbochargedsquirrel Well, I mean we certainly could see Ezra and Sabine make a return. I mean, the end of Rebels shows Sabine and Ahsoka setting off to find Ezra, right?

And honestly, most of the rest of Ahsoka's unfinished business died with Anakin/Vader.

I had a customer come in the other day who told me his daughter works for Disney doing merchandising. He correctly assumed I'd be interested since I have the office filled with Funkos, mainly Disney and Star Wars.

But apparently, Disney didn't anticipate the popularity of The Child and had to scramble to get merchandise out to sell the ravenous hordes.

But based on what he told me, that the studio gets together with companies years before or a movie or show is released and tries to guess what will be the most marketable, I have to wonder if Favreau did it on purpose and let it slip by so it would actually be a surprise in Episode 1. Because in today's age of spoilers, that was insane.

Maybe. I know that a lot of movie surprises were ruined because people saw the toys ahead of the movie release.

@ttyymmnn There were complaints about Rey not having a lightsaber in some toys that came out around The Force Awakens launch, and I'm quite sure that rather than an unconscious diminishment of Rey, it was an attempt to protect plot points from supply chain leaks.

Anyway, fun Favreau fact, in The Clone Wars series, he did the voice acting for the Mandalorian who wielded the Dark Saber, so he no doubt had a head start on the lore going in.

@f86sabre @ttyymmnn I think they have the potential there of more like six separate shows. I have never been a big Star wars fan, but Mrs Vandura and I sure loved Mando. The thing that I am the most worried about in all of this is what Mando is going to do for a ride now that his Razor Crest got destroyed by Moff Gideon. And as villains go, I thought Moff Gideon was one of the best ever. My adult daughter is in from out of town with the grandchild and my youngest daughter hasn't watched any of Mando yet, so they are watching the entire thing again on a binge. when it gets to the end, I'm going to watch the final scene more closely because it looked to me as though Gideon blasted boba Fett.

@f86sabre @ttyymmnn I thought Boba Fett was fantastic and casting a Maori actor was a stroke of genius. My only complaint with the show is that I thought many of the props were flimsy. For example, every switch on the Razor Crest's dash board you could have bought at O'reilly's. And the blasters and rifles clearly had no mass to them at all.

Story line though, what's to become of Mando's Mando-ness now that he's had his helmet off so much? This is not the way.

This is one of the story lines that I'm so interested in. Who exactly is a "True mandalorian"? The one so dedicated to his armor that he never takes his helmet off? The one who came from the planet Mandalore and is trying to become the new leader? And then there's the Fetts, who seemed to be honorary Mandos and who have fought in their wars.

Add in the whole darksaber thing, and it all feels like high potential for interesting TV.

I've been thinking of it as "Older jedis use the force to be lazy".

After you've been through countless battles, you might search for ways to become more efficient. If you can learn to predict your opponents movements, you could place yourself to move less to block and attack easier.

That made seeing the dark troopers get torn apart so easily seem like I was watching a Jedi master, not just bad fight choreography.

@rusty-vandura The actor playing Boba Fett is the same one who played Boba's father Jango (Boba is a clone of course) in Attack of the Clones:
                                                      c8f27259-bf44-4865-841a-fe5588484955-image.png

So if you like the casting (and I see no reason not to), you get to go all the way back to the early 2000s for that.
