I really like these wheels...
-
They're Klutch KM16's I've gotta do some more reading of the backspacing and whatnot, and it will depend on what I do with the Rampage's drivetrain. But I REALLY love Turbofan style wheels, but the Rampage can't fit things like 19" Rotiform's. Nor can I afford them.
And these have a "solid" middle which I like. The Trucklet doesn't have showy brakes or anything behind the wheels worth seeing. The Rampage has 14" x 5.5" stock wheels... so they are tiny, but LOTS of sidewall. I figure I could pull off 15/16" and still leave lots of cushy tire wall to roll around on, and the upsizing should leave lots of brake part room. Most of the pictures I could find are of course very tuner-esque cars. But I tried to find a couple boxier rides to get the idea.
There's also a picture of them on a VW Rabbit truck. But they chose very large blue anodized ones, which l
think look terrible and I would never do that. -
@sn4cktimes a 15x7 with a 225 tire for a square shoulder would look really nice. What does your rampage currently look like?
-
Christmas wheels! I’d like to see one of these on top of the tree.
-
@sn4cktimes I like the turbine style but I'd rather these didn't have those little center decorations. I think those 'rays' would detract a bit from your Rampage.
-
@sn4cktimes Rota D154 come in 16s right?
-
@vincentmalamute I dunno, I actually like them. They break up the plainness of the center in a nice way. These are some good-looking wheels.
-
OOooohhhhh yeesssss that's some good wheel.
-
@sn4cktimes I like em. Reminds me of Work Equip 02’s or Impul D-1’s
-
@sn4cktimes I like these too, very old school. Something you would have seen from SSR or Avan.
-
@sn4cktimes A friend of mine has an E30 318 that he put Ronal Turbos on. It looks super bitchin. I’m totally in love with it. Many years ago, I wanted to put Turbos on my MR2, but somehow never got around to it.
Turbine wheels are hot, on the right car. -
@italianjobr53 They do. They were another consideration.
-
@vincentmalamute I agree. But they gotta put bolt holes somewhere... The use 5 points for the 5 lug, and 4 for the 4 point. Which I appreciate the symmetry of that. I had some no name alloys on my Veloster for the winter wheels, and they were a dual bolt pattern wheel that the bolt hole locations REALLY annoyed me to look at. But I do like the cupped and solid centre enough to ignore the "star" pattern I think.
-
@phenotyp I'm a fan of those too.
-
@sony1492 not much to look at currently. I think this is going to end up being a chassis I roll into a paint shop with a handful of money and say “make it right”.
Only straight side shot I’ve got.
-
@phenotyp Ahh yes. Just checked, I had this inkling I went down that road already. The turbos are 4x100 pattern. But the R50 AERO's are 5. BUT they are also 18". Which is way too big.
Edit: They come in 16's. Back in the running I suppose.
-
Those Ronal R50's are pretty nice too.
-
@sn4cktimes I forgot they came with logos. The logos are decorations but I like them better than the star pattern decorations.
I like either of these on your Rampage.
-
@vincentmalamute I like the Ronals more than the OZ
-
In terms of cheap turbofan wheels of unknown quality, the Japan Racing JR14s are up there with those Klutches for style points.
