In honor of Oppo reaching 600 members, I present the rarest Fiat minivan, the 1958 Fiat 600 Multipla Mirafiori.

In that name, here's a photo of Oppo's resident Fiat 600 (my Zastava 750), which incidentally won't be out of the shop for a while...
-
@spasoje I didn't know you had one. It's a lively blue color. Always liked those things even if they are technically Fiat branded.
-
-
@whoistheleader it's actually in the police colors of the day, hence why the hood and trunk are white! While mine in particular isn't a real police car (it's the "loaded" version instead lol), the look was too good to resist. It's basically like an NYPD smart car.
-
-
@spasoje that's interesting. I didn't recognise the police livery but now that I see it I understand it. It's a really interesting vehicle. Do you get it out much?
-
@rallydarkstrike nope, there's zero rust on it. Got a ton of mechanical issues due to the botched resto - doesn't start reliably, doesn't run well, leaks oil everywhere, brake pedal got very hard, shifter linkage broke.
The paint is also flaking and degrading, since they didn't even do that part well...will need a complete respray on the outside (the inside and undercarriage are solid, ironically) once it's finally sorted mechanically.
-
Damn man, that sucks....so another shop put you through the ringer and did a crap job on it, did they?
-
@whoistheleader I did when it worked... Long story short, they botched my resto, which I only found out after the car was shipped here!
I've dealt with the shop that did this, but I have to basically re-restore it now. That's happening in phases - with everything that's fixed, my mechanic and I uncover a new thing that's also broken...
The only thing they truly did properly was the rustproofing, probably because it was something I specifically insisted on from the beginning.
-
@rallydarkstrike the crap job was done by the place overseas that I hired to restore it originally. My mechanic here has been good in taking care of the various issues.
The problem is that with everything we fix, that uncovers something else that's also broken. Hence why it's been in the shop for most of the ten years it's been in Canada lol
-
@spasoje That really sucks. You basically paid them to break the few things left working. Sometimes it's better to have had no one touch it than someone break it very thoroughly. I know Rally Darkstrike has been dealing with a botched collision repair for years now. At least they did the rustproofing right. That's one thing that would probably be the hardest to keep refixing.
-
@spasoje I hope you got some money back....paying for a restoration twice would suck!
-
@rallydarkstrike unfortunately not, but I did go public with my experience in a few key places. They haven't had a customer since. That was 10 years ago
-
@spasoje That's the best you can do, considering the circumstances....at least she's getting fixed properly now!
