Hey Everyone,
Decided to click on the Oppo link of jalopnik and noticed it was gone, quick google search brought me here so I signed up.
Looks like a decent site, I would suggest a dark mode for those that sit in front of computers all days selling Acura parts.
I guess that's all for now... maybe ask me some Acura questions if you're curious?

Welcome!
There is a dark mode - click on your profile picture and go to "settings" - at the very bottom you can select "Dark"

As for images, the 'photo in landscape' button in the post editor is for weblinks, and the 'photo in portrait with the folded corner' button is for local image uploads.

Ah Ok. I'll figure this place out eventually.
To ACTUALLY answer your question, John Ikeda, the guy in charge at Acura, always has a wagon version of the sedans drawn up for each car, because he's a wagon guy. Unfortunately, like all wagons these days, nothing ever comes to fruition. THe new TLX as a wagon with the Type S numbers would be a fucking EPIC car....
... that 4 people could afford/buy.
-
@someoneatacura I would just like to say I'm in favor of an NSX shooting brake:
And definitely couldn't afford one if it existed...
-
There is rumours of and NSX SUV, and there was previous rumours of a ZDX revival. Personally, if the ZDX came back with the NSX driveline.... I would be fine with that.

Hey!! Glad to see you found your way here! We weren't about to let Oppo die!
I can help with the 'figuring out'! Take a look at the User Guide....should give you a good overview!

@Someoneatacura Welcome aboard! For what its worth, I don't have any questions, but my folks have a 2006 Acura RSX Type S with like 280k miles on it that they've owned since new. I think all its ever needed beyond basic maintenance was some exhaust hangers, a rear brake caliper. Fantastic little car, and fun to drive!
-
@someoneatacura Hello from the other side of the family. I would lust the crap out of a TLX wagon. But yea, couldn't afford one. I can't even afford a normal TLX with my associate pricing. I've been torn on getting a TSX wagon, just wish they got better MPG. I have a soft spot for wagons. I reaaaalllly want to import a Honda Orthia. I loved my 6th gen Civic and it would be amazing to own the true wagon version.

@someoneatacura Welcome!

Will they make the new ILX actually something worth buying?

Yes, a Si/Type R type equivalent is in the works, and after the MDX Type S, the next sports car.
-
@Someoneatacura Welcome back! The band is all here, and I see Rallydarkstrike got you linked to the user guide. You should be all set to Oppo anew.
-
Welcome! I'm glad you were able to find us with the googles. We were way buried for a bit but have been clawing our way into the first page.
-
@someoneatacura Oh hey good to see you here!
-
Any plans for a crossover smaller than the RDX? I know a few years ago Ikeda was trying to get the Chinese-market CDX over here and I think it could do well with the 1.5T.
-
@someoneatacura Glad you found us!
How good should we expect the new Type S to be? What will its natural competitors in the marketplace be?

No idea, It would make sense to bring in that car to fill that role, but at the same time, a ILX hatchback would also fit there, and you know... be a hatchback vs SUV/CUV. I'm hoping that's what's going to happen, but I have no idea.

IF you've read the reviews of the Non Type S TLX, you'll know the only real complaint that spans all reviews is not enough power, not enough tire. Personally, I tihnk the Type S is going to better than the numbers suggest, which is usually how things go with Honda/Acura products. DIck waggers and number nazis will quote this or that, but at the end of the day, it's about how it feels to drive, and the current TLX is a set of tires away from being at the top. Add in some more power and you should have a really sweet sports sedan. There is a new add out on youtube that has the Type S sound through out it, it sounds GOOD.
