Post is up at Backtalk, so feel free to head over, see (and show!) some cute pups, kittens, etc., and commiserate with our fellow Kinja exiles:

@facw the critters got a bath last night, they were not happy. Here they are still very wet, cleaning themselves after.

That's definitely what they said. They just showed up yesterday after 4 days in transport so they stunk. So bath time!

@jminer I had to do something (give it meds?) to a roommate's cat in college once. Full face helmet, full motorcycle leathers and gloves. No scratches!

              ...meh...

Giving a cat a pill is almost an art form. Better with two people, but I've done it in my own. Wear the thick shirt I use a chainsaw in, grab the poor thing by it's head, use thumb and life finger to open mouth (helps to have large hands), then use a plunger pill delivery tool, then close the critters mouth and blow on their nose until they swallow and stick out their tongue. It's a nusto process!

I wish I could just smear the pill in BBQ sauce like you can with a dog...

@jminer Cat baths; brings up memories. Years ago we had a ferret named Slinky. We'd occasionally give him a bath, which he never really minded. But only because he LOVED getting towelled off after. He would lose his mind in that towel. Eventually the wife sewed it into a sac. Man he was a spaz. I miss that little kamikaze fur missile. Ferrets hit life hard. They give everything 298%, but tend not to live very long.

Ex: Little guy spent 2 hours burrowing into a pumpkin. Finally got in there and slept inside for 5 hours. Shot out like a rocket and tackled everything in the bookcase to the floor while covered in dried pumpkin goo. This of course led to more towel-time and then anarchy. Ferret! That was just ye old standard Tuesday...

@sn4cktimes We had a ferret too, they're wonderful and hilarious creatures. Ours would take and hide chewy things or rubbery things. He made a nest inside of a chair and would steal tennis shoes and such to hide in there.

Aww... That's too bad. Roommate in college got me into rats for a while. Smart and great pets. Don't live long at all. Heart breakers, all of them.

@jminer Slinky liked to sleep face first in shoes. He also got all up in our furniture and we eventually had to get some super dense canvas to cover the bottoms. He wasn’t too bad of a thief, he mostly seemed to steal hilariously over-sized foods like entire apples, bananas, an entire broccoli etc. He didn’t really eat them. He just wanted to take them.

@vincentmalamute Yeah, those high energy animals are like comets. They burn extra bright, but not for long.
