Ummm....

Hypothetical: You are scrolling the local classifieds and you come across an ad for a old honda. "My dad passed away 17 yrs ago and left this. I don't know anything about it, but it does start. Really dirty from sitting, tires are flat. $1700.
Then you see this:
I am literally shaking like I've overdosed on coffee. I have sent out a communique, and will drop everything if.... -
Wow. The complete opposite of "I know what I have".
Let us how it goes!
-
@st80mnd wow.
It's either like winning the lottery or it's a scam. -
@vondon302 I'm thinking scam as well, but I gotta try. I will never forgive myself if I don't, because what if its real?
-
I will give you 2000 for your honda. An easy 300 bucks for your effort. Deal?
-
I hope it's real and nobody tells em before you get to it
-
If its legit thats incredible. Someone do a reverse image search on google with that pic and see if anything comes up. So we know if someone took a random pic or not.
-
That is either the world's best find or the world's most obvious scam, depending on which timeline we wind up on.
-
I noticed the distinct lack of a link to the ad which is understandable. If that's legit, DO IT! Please keep us updated as if this is real, it's the steal of the century.

Doesn't appear to be at the house in the ad.
-
@ibrad add a zero or 2 lol
-
@st80mnd $002000? That's fine.
-
-
@ibrad yeah my bad i didnt think about compromising the link privacy but we are honorable oppos and wont steal it. I was just thinking about if the pic was elsewhere if it was a scam.

Well, it is 2020, and I'm not sure, but I think I've seen stranger shit this year.
Exactly. This is the kind of optimism that will ensure the survival of humanity.
Get that car, or lose your kidneys trying.
-
Since everyone already knows I’m clueless: is that an NSX-R? I don’t know my crazy expensive Hondas. And just how crazy expensive would it be legitimately?
-
Man, if you could get that and get it running....but I imagine getting it running again wouldn't be easy...
-
@maximaspeed @ST80MND GIS brings up a post that contains the same picture from some weird (botted) site in Georgian? The post dates to February 2019, so more than likely it's a trap. Or maybe the seller unsuccessfully put the car up for sale before last year, and the shady site used the photo from that. Or maybe the dates wrong? Maybe that's being way too hopeful, but I really want this to be legit.
-

Oh ya gota pursue it just for that fact.
-
@just-jeepin NSX-R's were only sold in Japan, so unlikely that this is an R if the ad is true about the dad being dead for 17 years
-
While I hope it's legit - I have my doubts:
If it's been there for 17 years, it would show on Google Earth. However, there are lots of abandoned looking cars in the area....so its possible. However, there doesn't appear to be a "176 Castleridge Dr"My guess is though if someone gets back to you, it will be to say "Lots of people are interested, you need to wire/PayPal/deposit in my account the money and I'll hold it for you" or something. That's how you'll know it's a scam.
Otherwise, if there is anyone local, time for a drive-by.

It's also possible that the car isn't at the seller's location. If it was "Dad's car" that was parked for 17 years, the guy selling it is very possibly not living in the same house anymore.
Not saying it's definitely legit, but that's a pretty minor red flag.
-
@trivet Agreed, I can't find 176 either. And all of the houses in that neighbourhood have vinyl siding, while the picture is showing a brick house.

What you left our was the image:
Which I have no idea what it says.

Well, a bit of digging and it is not real. Too good to be true, should've known. Fu*k the scammer for getting hopes up, I hope they get Covid.
