Mexican Radio
-
I found out at 4pm today that I have a meeting at 11am tomorrow to present a project I've been working on to higher ups.
Very much not excited about this, will be working late tonight to get it ready.
Mexican Radio is in my ears at the moment and doing the job nicely nicely.
It has enough energy to keep my mood from getting too sour but enough of that early 00's pop-punk anger in it too.
Well, back to work!

@jminer good luck

@jminer good luck! Gonna give 'em a listen when im back at the grind tomorrow.
-
Good luck!
First time I've ever heard a cover of that tune. It's a pretty straightforward version, but I gotta say I prefer Stan Ridgway's vocals on the original:
-
@dead_elvis Oh yeah the original is way better. Spotify put this on tonight and I hadn't heard it in a while but enjoy it. Fit my current mood well too.
@beefchips @pip-bip Thanks! I like my new job, but this seems to be normalish and I don't love that. I'll go without direction for a while then it's rush like hell to get it done. I'll frequently get meeting invites like 10 minutes before they start too. Finger crossed as I get settled in and better known that'll change.

Sucks dude! I get them the evening before, for 7AM meetings. Like WTF?? Would've reined in the drinking if I'd have known earlier.
-
@beefchips In my last job when that happened I pretended I didn't see the invite and then didn't show up to the meeting
-
@jminer Yeah serves them right! Why should I wake up at 6:58 anyway??
-
@jminer Stanard Ridgeway covers theme day?
-
Good luck, although I'm sure you will succeed on skill, and not need the luck. Good cover too. I love a good cover.
this one is pretty dang good as well!
-
@jminer Arizona Bro Punk. Flat brimmed hats and lifted trucks. Bonus points for having a giant Skin decal across the rear window or if you’re really extreme, a “Sand Sluts” decal. Gotta mix in some Bro Hymn.
-
@jminer Good luck! Never heard of these guys before, they sound like a Green Day knock off.
-
From the memory banks.....anybody remember the racing show "RPM2Night" on ESPN2 back in the day? I used to love it. I think the host initially was Kenny Mayne and when he showed a clip of small crash, he'd say (paraphrasing) "and here's (driver) listening to the mexican radio into the wall of voodoo".
-
@jminer also the name of a good burrito place in Schenectady. Or was, anyway, not sure if they're still there.
-
@st80mnd Thanks! I love me first and the Gimmie Gimmies. They're in my regular listening rotation.
