Something new to me
-
In all the years I’ve lived in the Midwest I’ve never had critters use my car for food storage until now. I’ve seen plenty of examples of them making homes in people’s vehicles and power equipment thanks to various YouTube videos (mostly Mustie1). The closest I’ve ever come to this was back in CA when I started the E34 and heard some rather pissed-off creature screaming at me; a possum climbed under the hood and tore shit up. Thankfully whatever creatures are appropriating space in the 5 don’t seem to be destructive. Yet.

@6mt_ftw The biggest vehicle/animal surprise I've ever had was to pop the hood on a project vehicle and find a 6' king snake coiled up in the airbox.
-
I had to put mouse traps in my Jeep this summer. Felt very sad about it, but the bugger was shitting all over the place.
-
@jminer Yikes! I don't like sneks of any type, so seeing that would be a big 'nope' from me.
I did take some pictures of the possum, and I'll have to dig them out and post them some day. I took them so that I could take them to work to verify why I was late that day as I waited for animal control to arrive. But then again, calling into the office and saying that you'll be late because you have a possum stuck under your hood is probably just so far out there that nobody could ever accuse you of making it up.

@just-jeepin Next time try dryer sheets. They hate the smell, and will leave.

Interesting, thanks. I'm not sure how well that'll work in a naked Jeep, though.

@just-jeepin I'm not either, but it may be worth a shot.
