My wife may be more excited than I am
-
I talk about cars around the house, ummm, quite a bit. My wife has bought multiple T shirts along the lines of "Easily Distracted by Cars", "Still Plays With Cars", and "Just One More, I Promise!". For the most part, speaking of vehicles in the household induces many eye rolls.
So I found it funny when I sat down to work this morning, unprompted, she says "wouldn't it be really cool if you got an email that they're building your Bronco early?". Why yes, yes it would. She's quite excited about it having a manual. I'm starting to wonder if perhaps we're buying my wife a Bronco, and not me.

@huzer Iiiiiiiiinterdasting...
-
@huzer She's a keeper!
My wife would kill for a Bronco. Especially an early, original one. We're still not sure that the Acura RDX won't be traded in one day for a sweet 2-door, but we'd go for an automatic. I love manuals, she loves manuals, but neither of us love it in SUVs.
She drove a manual CR-V when I met her.
-
@musashi66 We'll have the luxury of this not being a primary vehicle, so the manual will be a-ok. If it were a family vehicle (aka a 4 door), I'd be getting the 2.7 auto. Although there are some stories about a bad batch of 2.7 internals.
-
@huzer nice! And that happened to me. I got a car in March. A month later my wife drove it "once" so I could get the oil changed in the truck, and that was that.

Good, good... let the addiction flow through you...
What's the current thought on the Mustang?

You are. Accept it. I'm currently laying the groundwork for getting the F-150 Lightning.
-
@future-next-gen-s2000-owner She really wants to get a Mustang Mach E, although now she's annoyed that one of our neighbors have one on order. Ha.
I have a feeling that with 35s on the Bronco, getting in and out for her may get a bit annoying.
-
@davesaddiction Current thought is that the Mustang will be sold. I really believe that I'll have at least another year with it before the Bronco arrives, though. Lots can change in that year, especially with me!
-
@misterbuttercup Ha! My wife has been happy with her Jeep, but she's definitely getting the itch to make a change.
-
my wife has also provided unsolicited opinions about how the 2 door looks right and the 4 door looks wrong.
-
@kleebrz My wife actually likes both, although she's only seen the 2 door in pictures. She comments when she sees a 4 door. We saw one at the rink the other day, and she mentioned that the 4 door looks a little weird to her, but that she still likes it. She's team 2 door, for sure.
-
how old is she? I feel like as 90s high schoolers, the proportions of the bronco, blazer, 4runner, cherokee are strongly engrained in our brains.
-
@kleebrz We're old folks, early/mid 80s high schoolers.

You know, I've thought about this a little more this morning. She has been pushing to order "up", and has mentioned heated seats, and other options being more of a need. You're right, I'm ordering my wife's Bronco. D'oh.
