It's my birthday, Oppo (But you already knew that)
-
Thanks to my big bro @Rusty-Vandura for the birthday wishes, and a couple of photos I hadn't ever seen before. Making me feel old. They say you are only as old as you feel. I prefer my corollary which is, "You don't have to feel as old as you are."
Thank you all for your birthday salutations. Post old things in replies: planes, cars, trees, rutabagas, whatever. Here a few things in my particular area of interest that were also born in 1966.

Happy Birthday!!
Here is a car that looks like a rutabaga!
-
@ttyymmnn Happy Birthday!! How convenient, 1966 the first year of the BMW 1600-2. I just LOVE the early 1600 badges.
-
Oh, my, that's beautiful. The windows! I hate how car windows have gotten so small these days.
-
@ttyymmnn Happy Birthday! Here's my old thing, but it's from '68.

@huzer Ka-Chow

I love it!

@ttyymmnn CH-53. My dad flew 53's in the Marines, active duty 6 years then 20+ in the reserves. I grew up going to airshows where his was mostly on static display, but occasionally got to see him fly. Still amazed how agile those enormous helicopters were.
-
@ttyymmnn Happy birthday! Have an old car that sounds like a jet:
-
Nice. Made me smile.

How cool it must have been to go to an airshow with your dad who was a pilot. I haven't been to an airshow in ages for all sorts of reasons, none of which are that I didn't want to go.

-
I'll have two of these, please.
-
Went looking for a photo of the PC-7, saw that one, knew I had found absolutely the perfect photo.

I don't like Jay Leno, but he owns one of those.
-
I am reminded of how much I enjoyed -- I enjoy -- this show.
-
@ttyymmnn Yes, it was cool. I got to climb around in all sorts of places the general public didn't get to go - lots of cockpits!
Needing glasses in 7th grade pretty much doused my daydreams of being a pilot though.
-
@ttyymmnn Why would anyone set up that Harrier (or Matador I guess) shot and only show the smoke from the worlds last surviving (at the time) light carrier:
In any event have some cool planes:

That's my idea of the perfect aeroplane.

I had a bumper sticker on my college foot locker that read: You're only young once but you can be immature forever.

Rommel was born today.
He never had to 'feel as old as you are'. He didn't make it to 55.
Perhaps you made some better life decisions.
Happy Birthday and here's to many, many more.
The late 50's were good to me. More disposable income to spend on car stuff.
