@rusty-vandura It's a nice place.
From a rainy night in February 2020, just before the pandemic took hold over here. They may want to clean their coffers though...Also liberating it from slavers was one of the most satisfying things in Fallout 3.

I've taken almost that exact same photo.

Gotta wonder how that little guy is processing such a big place.

It's hard not to arrange a great photo in Washington DC.

My idea of a play structure.

@rusty-vandura Going to the monuments at night is a KEY move. We stumbled on it by accident a few years ago. It's much cooler out (especially in miserable summer), crowds are WAY smaller - leading to way easier parking, and to top it all off: I definitely think the monuments look really, really cool at night lit up! Museums during the day, but save the monuments for night.

@Rusty-Vandura I just acquired a ~30 year old aerial image of DC and hung it up over the weekend. It's about 4'x4' and includes the mall of course. This was back in the day when you didn't go to SE DC at night, but now Nats Park is there and it's much better.

@matthurting That's interesting. @ttyymmnn and I grew up in Norfolk and we took frequent family trips to DC. As well, one of the best days in high school that I spent was as a senior, my social studies class took a day trip to DC. I was one of exactly four white students on that trip and the others were all girls, and out of my league. One of them slept with their head on my shoulder on the bus on the trip home. I shared salad with some of the students on the back of the Lincoln Memorial. The teacher, Ms. Washington, was really cool and really laid back and comfortable to be around that day. Just one of those nice, one of the only nice, memories I have of high school.

@foghat1981 I keep my boat right across from the Lincoln Memorial. I love seeing the city at night.

Definitely! I did that when I visited DC, and was very happy to have done so.
